Listen to the words of "One ocean," what a joke. Rip these babies from their families and throw them in with Ora's that do not like them so they can then be abused and betrayed by not only humans but other orcas. It certainly isn't the orcas fault. That's all they know to do.

Yes blame people you don't know for animals not in their care.... The real orca deaths are in the wild right now. The Southern Residents are going extinct. But no "documentary" has come out about them so no one cares. I'll continue to go to SeaWorld because I've seen with my own eyes how they're cared for.
@sevenseasoffreedom165410 жыл бұрын
Dom M Guess you're out of the loop; there is an in-progress documentary on the Southern Residents called "Fragile Waters." Are you aware of the proposal to tear down four dams to help restore salmon populations? Probably not, as SeaWorld does not share this news with its paying customers. In fact, the only promotion of it I have seen is from those who oppose captivity. You can start learning more at whales.org/dams.

Because when you hear they were never taught, do you not know that that's because they were taken from their mothers side before they could learn how to hunt! There are things called sea enclosures which is a huge and deep enclosure for whale rehabilitation. So they could give them to rehabilitation centres that would treat them right:)

Kasey Willes The full true story from their website, you say?! I've been to their site... No "true" or remotely "full story" there... Just a bunch of textbook P.R tricks attempting to spin a story. Attacking the character of witnesses is classic... hardly innovative propaganda technique. And you folks commenting in defense of SeaWorld... Probably a team of interns the P.R department put together to comment on videos exposing SeaWorld's heinous practices... I've seen dozens of comments... Which appear textbook, as well... Every single one of says that "Blackfish is telling lies"... "Seaworld takes good care of the animals that would die otherwise" .... And you end by advising people to "do their own research".... Granted a couple of you try to change up the wording a bit, but the fact that every last one of you is actually typing a spiel from a script is most obvious. I remember my parents taking me to Sea World as a kid... Something I will NEVER experience with my children because I will NEVER again contribute my money to the pockets of the money hungry demons enslaving these beautiful majestic creatures.

+Prelestnost2 If this is so "disturbing" as you call it, why don't I see you comment on videos with lions or tigers in zoos that lay around all day? They too are at the top of the food chain, yet they too lie around in their exhibit at zoos. My question is why do people only single out orcas when there are plenty of other animals at zoos (zoos with as high of class of animal care as SeaWorld) that act similarly as the animals at SeaWorld, yet no one is saying anything about those animals? Doing real research of both sides, and doing unbiased research on these animals will tell you that they are living incredible lives at SeaWorld.
@SonjaSmith9 жыл бұрын
+OneOcean111 LOL, incredible lives! Yes sirreee. No one is singling out orca, people are fighting for lions, elephants , birds , dogs/cats and even farm animals. The Orca receive special attention because they are so spectacular as a species , like elephants being Self Aware. It has become obvious to most of the population that what we are doing to them amounts to heinous Torture for most of their lives which in some cases so far has been 4+ decades of work and slavery., no breaks, no where to go. This since they were infants. We know what cruelty looks like and This Is IT. Sea World Orca Captivity is finished, it's only a matter of time.
@oneocean1119 жыл бұрын
SonjaSmith If people really are fighting for those animals, why hasn't someone made a popular enough "documentary" as blackfish? We don't know if these animals do or do not have self awareness, there is no scientific evidence to back this up. Do they have the potential? Sure, but for now, it's uncertain if we know if they do or do not. Now you can say they do based on your empathy for them or something, but true science says we don't know. No breaks? The animals at SeaWorld do provide breaks for the animals, especially for the animals at the San Antonio park. They even receive a type of play time, which ties in with their breaks. If you consider being feed the perfect amount of food everyday, received daily medical care, and being given endless care torture, I wonder what you wouldn't find torturous.
@SonjaSmith9 жыл бұрын
+OneOcean111 You be a great little prisoner in a 6x7 cage, as long as you're fed every day and given some exercise time and health care. I'm not talking about 15 minute breaks, I'm talking 2 or more mind numbing- dumb ass shows every day for 30 40 years, that's for only those who haven't died prematurely. People like you wallow in your own delusions and fantasies, no amount of science or reality could sway you from your tiny brained illusions about pretty circus animals you think are having fun throwing balls up and down for 40 years- while you eat hot dogs and think you CARE about animals. I'm not going to change your mind. I doubt you can change mine, either for the one simple reason. We have no business imprisoning massive predators, let alone in tiny, concrete, chlorinated pools.
@briankeenergod39144 жыл бұрын
@Blackfish Debunked Why do you think they're constantly injuring the trainers. The yearly average is 100 incidents so come on man use your brain. Blaring music which causes great discomfort for them plus being starved whenever they mess up on top of only getting attention when the trainers amd sea world wanna use them for shows pushes them over the fucking edge. If you were abused and given food only if you peformed like a slave along with playing loud music sl it hurts your ears on top of the other abuse not seen by the public which has been confirmed literally by every trainer that's spoken on the matter...you'd be pissed off and would hate them at some point.

SeaWorld then bought it's four whales (Haida 2, Nootka 4, Tilikum and Kyuquot) Tilikum did not capture him. Keltie slipped into the pool. she was never supposed to be near him or the other whales. it was Nootka and Haida that killed Keltie, not Tilikum. Daniel Dukes was not a trainer, he jumped into the pool after hours. any of the other whales would of attacked him. xsarah791x you said "any person" well a killer whale has a more developed, more complex mind then humans so no one truly knows if they are going "insane" and you cant say "these whales" when referring to the deaths. that was one whale who killed. yes other whales have "attacked" but that could have been because they were upset or in a playful mood. the video that was released in like 2006 or something like that where a trainer is being dragged down to the bottom. that whale was treating his trainer as if he would a toy if you have ever seen an orca play with their toys you would agree.

Kasey Willes I will give you one point because they are smarter than us have you ever seen what happens to a child that is locked away and has no stimulation they become psychotic and that is what has happened to this whale it has literally been driven mad by boredom... genius humans often kill themselves or die of self inflicted causes such as drugs or alcohol because the world bores them and they would rather die than live. People with higher IQs get bored easier then people with lower IQs... They are way cleverer than even humans... so it only stands to reason they would get bored... Did you know that one of the first captured killer whales bashed his head against the wall of his tank that many times that he eventually died of a brain hemorrhage that is how wrong this is!!!!

The owner of Sea World is a Sadist. He is doing this on purpose so everyone has to watch animal cruelty. It will come to an end though because Fukushima is spewing more than 400 tons of radioactive isotopes into the pacific and now it is all dead, orcas included, so they have no place to shop for animals any more.

They can't hear us, you know why they use the whistle? Because that is the frequency they are able to hear... And if you see their mouths opened and you hear a sound, it's not coming from their mouths, it's coming from their blowhole.
@sevenseasoffreedom165410 жыл бұрын
Mafer Achach Killer whale CAN hear us. They have better hearing than humans and can hear higher frequencies, which is in addition to what we hear. SeaWorld's own website even explains it: "Early studies published in 1972 suggested that the hearing range of killer whales was about 0.5 to 31 kHz. More recent studies show killer whales could hear sounds at frequencies as high as 120 kHz. Greatest sensitivity ranged from 18 to 42 kHz with the least sensitivity to frequencies from 60 to 120 kHz. In comparison, the range of hearing of a young, healthy human is 15 to 20,000 Hz (0.015-20 kHz.) Human speech falls within the frequency band of 100 to 10,000 Hz (0.1-10 kHz), with the main, useful voice frequencies within 300 to 3,400 Hz (0.3-3.4 kHz.) This mainly falls within a killer whale’s hearing range." seaworld.org/animal-info/animal-infobooks/killer-whale/senses/

@BFHSshuffle10 жыл бұрын
Actually when you're in the stadiums, at least in San Diego, everything is muffled the closer you are to the pools. In fact you can hardly hear the music in most shows. Add this to their hearing range and the possibility that they're able to block out sounds that are too loud (at least pseudorcas, could be the same with orcas, SeaWorld is currently doing a study on hearing ranges) - it probably doesn't bug them.

By the looks of it trainers knew something was up as from what I've read they're not allowed on stage when he is out. A red light shows. There was a trainer with a foot up on stage looking out with a red light on. Other videos show no one is near the stage when red light is on. So they were obviously worried. It's so so sad!!!

+John Rivera you can't hear anything but it definitely looks like the whale was saying something, he/she pokes her head up and opens her mouth.
@caitlynkelly88597 жыл бұрын
the "vocals" you heard, was simply a child babbling happily. I have no doubt that Tilikum was communicating with Malia, the other whale. Malia having her mouth open has nothing to do if she's vocalising or not. they make vocals through their blowholes. they don't have vocal cords, so their mouth is for fish and fish only. they can't even breathe through their mouths. sounds are made by manipulating the muscles of the blowhole and pushing air out. Malia is fine. she's not ill, and wasn't at the time this video was taken. she was most likely trying to play with her father through the gates. the Bobbing around could simply be playful behaviour, since whales use their body language a lot more than humans do, since they can't make facial expressions. Malia is Tilikum's daughter, conceived naturally with Taima and Kept with both parents until her mothers death, and was kept with Tilikum until his death. now she just hangs around with the rest of the pod.

you can tell if a whale is in good condition by his dorsal fin, obviously it's been neglected. it's so horrible for humans to seperate children with their mothers but if it's an animal it's okay? i think we are the real animals.
@sazmullium8 жыл бұрын
+Ivanna Minera I'm sorry but you are a joke, dorsal fins have nothing to do with health where the hell did you learn that bullshit? Dorsal fins are made entirely of collagen.. The more time they spend on the surface the more time gravity takes effect causing it to bend, it is seen in wild orca that spend less time diving too. It's not as rare as you think it will be, obviously captive orca have no need to deep dive as their food is on the surface as well as their trainers hence the surface time. Only a maximum of 3 orcas have been separated, what blackfish failed to mention to you is that only females MAY and its a big may..stay with their mothers their whole life, male orcas typically separate to new pods to prevent inbreeding... as for mothers do you know the REAl reason they were separated... it was due to aggression and neglect... what do we do when a human mother neglects their child? we separate. the fact you think the orca should be made to suffer by its mother simply because you believed a made up false clip with a computer generated sound from a scene in blackfish is ridiculous. Orcas don't produce sound through their mouths but through their blow holes, plus the 'mother' seen in blackfish meant to be screaming... is an orca that in fact has never had a child... learn for facts if you are even remotely going to by into the bullshit propaganda that is blackfish,

sazmullium you are peddling bs here. It's very rare for dorsal fins to collapse in the wild, as they're swimming in cold seas, in STRAIGHT LINES not circling endlessly, exposed the the glare of the sun. Essentially, the collagen and fat melt, causing the fin collapse. If you think there's anything ok about all this, you're delusional

This video made me laugh at just how unnatural seaworld is as a whole. The music, clapping and tiny fishbowl of a tank, creates this completely ludicrous enviroment for orcas. it makes me wonder how people are able to fool themselves in to thinking that this is equally as fitting as life in the ocean.
