Awww Ashley! I just cried with you at the end of your video because I too know what it is like to lose friends. It’s crazy. I never thought I could lose friends over things like money and status, but Satan uses those things unfortunately to drive wedges between people. I guess what hurt me the most was when I lost friends when my twins were born so early at only 24 weeks. We were in the NICU for 3 and half months and friends I never thought I would lose just dropped off the planet. I still hurt over the loss of those relationships, but I try to remind myself that it’s their loss that they don’t care to know me and my miracles. You’re right. True friends will love you at your worst, as well as your best. I would love some day to meet you and your family. I have so much respect for you and your husband. Keep up the great work here on KZbin! The Lord is proud of your testimony. 💜

We swear by a lot of Dave Ramsey's tips, as well as Suzie Orman. We're a two income household and STILL live off of 1 income! Bought our house on one, 1 car note (almost paid off), no credit cards (but all active), 8-10 months reserve, give tithes and offerings to our church, etc. It's definitely strict but it feels good telling those home goods, TJ Maxx associates NO when they ask about getting their card to "save" 10%. LOL Now I still get my nails done, drink Starbucks, have cable, and a lot of the things you guys don't, but you have to do what works for your family. :) Great video guys!

Stemming, in my opinion, from ur faith. Beautiful family. So glad I found ur channel. I’m the wife of a 40 yr veteran pastor & we found & adapted the (personally customized) Dave Ramsey plan & have lived debt free for 20+ yrs. stick w/ ur goals. Love this, I think Dave is a genius for this simple system. I am a single mom to 3 kids and my goal is to be financially stable for them. Growing up I saw my patents worry and fight over money all the time and its not something I will ever let my kids see. It's harder the older my kids get (11, 7, and 5. I'm 30) because they want more expensive things but I try to steer them from that. On the plus side I bought my own house 3 months before my 30th birthday by myself. Thanks so much for the motivation.

This is hands down the very best video on this subject that I have ever watched. I am a mom of 3, and my husband, and I finally said that enough is enough! I only made 1390 a month at my job, but it cost us 500.00 a month for me to even be at work with childcare cost, not to mention gas. For the past 3 weeks, I have viewed a TON of videos regarding saving, and making money in odd ways, and you guys have really inspired me that this is possible. I know that I am lacking in some of the income I earned, but I have also learned that with effort, and determination I can cut cost so I dont need to worry that I lost income. Thank you very much.

Bless your heart. It's not fun to lose friends over something that's best and important for your family. Was wondering if your house is paid for as well? Did you pay cash or just pay it off fast? My husband and I are looking for a house. Don't want debt but it would be the only debt we'd have until it's paid off.

We still owe on our house. Dave Ramsey plan allows house debt he just wants you to pay it off soon. He says do a 15 year note instead of 30 and pay off even sooner.

Please don’t apologize for getting emotional. We’ve lost friends along the way and it still hurts. I’m sorry you went through that. 🤗 FPU is definitely life changing and works not just in the finances but in all aspects of your life not. It was a long but rewarding journey for me and my hubby getting out of debt while he was out of a job and I was supporting the 3 of us on a massage therapist income which is not a lot at all. We went through living in our friend’s basement to being out of debt and now living in a duplex with a big, beautiful backyard for our girls and fur babies. The only debt we have is our minivan(yes I am a minivan mom lol 😜) and we’re saving for our forever home. We’re so thankful and blessed for fpu and how much it’s helped us. It strengthened our marriage too. I love how beautiful your relationship is with Chase, you both are a true team and congrats on being debt free. The Lord sure is allowing you to reap those rewards from your hard labor. Well done! 👏😄

This is great Ashley! Y'all are a great example. Love those examples of making money :) My hubby and I set out to pay off our house so I could stay at home with our kids. We ended up beating our goal of paying off the house in 7.5 years (we had a 15 yr mortgage) down to 33 months! It was a crazy 33 months but we budgeted like crazy and used a lot of Dave Ramsey's methods to do it. My hubby is a teacher so it was a must that we paid it off asap. I was a teacher too during that time so our income was/is low. I love listening to Dave...it for sure fires me up to keep motivated!

With the amount of info online today you can definitely learn to do your own hair bleaching, nails, and tan!! And selling all those clothes you might have in favor of quality over quantity and learning to properly launder clothes to make them last longer is huge. Also I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about couponing, that can be SO helpful to save on household essentials and even build a small stockpile which is great to have during a pandemic.

We love Dave Ramsey as well and like his frisky real world philosophy and attitude. While I worked part-time when the kids were in school I would not call myself vicious. I have been blessed with a position that allows me flexibility to assist and attend school events and even aid teachers with reading. I still work with school committees including career and tech education which I feel is important for our future generations. Now that I work full-time I still help with my grandkids when sick, attend events and chaperone field trips.

Hi ! So glad I found you . I have never heard or watched Dave Ramsey’s videos or read his books . I’m all for cash and have done the envelope system in the past . We just moved and downsized to a tiny studio and we love it having less . I’m still trying to figure out our groceries . I need to make a menu and stick to a budget and use cash for it . One of my main expense is groceries and dollar tree 😐 . I’ll be following you both from now on . I have much to learn from you both . Thank you !!
@TilVacuumDoUsPart6 жыл бұрын
I’m so glad to hear it!! I would only take cash into stores that you over spend on. Then you are forced to stay within your budget. We grocery shop online now so I can see my total as we shop but before that I actually added each item that when into my cart on my iPhone calculator so I knew what my total was going to be.

Your so right about having credit cards, I suffer with Clinical Depression. Over the years I've impulsed bought. Finally I've realised I can't have credit cards for myself. I only use cash nowadays, my Hubby has cards, he has the self control you talked about tho... 🌈

That’s so smart of you though. Good job for knowing what works best for you!! If you can’t handle credit cards then get cash!! I think that is amazing!

Can we be neighbors? Lol I love seeing other people who get it. This was so encouraging. We are debt free and just bought a house (our dream home) so I know the next few yrs are going to be back to scrimping and paying it off. I hate debt and cant wait to pay that house off and we haven't even moved in yet lol! My kids have learned so much watching us work hard, pay off debt and save. I am so thankful that they have tools to make wise choices as they grow up.

We got pregnant with twins, knew it made sense for me to be home. My husband hunted scrap metal and the next day I would take it to the recycling place. Got rid of a truck, he got a job with a with truck so we got rid of his truck it saved us a truck payment gas and insurance payment. There are ways to do the thing you really want to do, you just have to be determined to do it. Pizza delivery or watching children in your home are a few other ways to increase income. It takes sacrifice, but it is worth it!

Thank you so much for introducing me to Dave Ramsey. He is so motivating and I’m going to try it with our family. When you cut out a lot of the things you don’t need, how much of a budget would you give yourself and husband for spending money or money for them to go do something? I know you said 100 a month. But was that in the beginning of the process? Also, was it hard around the holidays to save? Can you do a video on how to sort your envelopes. Like for your tags and so on. That’s a awesome great idea to have envelopes to stay organized :)
@TilVacuumDoUsPart6 жыл бұрын
When we were paying off debt there was zero fun money. Everything we made went to debt so we could fly through that step. I wanted to get through it quickly as possible. Once we had zero debt and our 3-6 months savings is when I starting taking fun money. Others have asked about the envelope system as well so I’ll figure out how to incorporate it into a video!

We live debt free and I am a stay at home mum. I'd rather go without weekends away and beauty treatments than miss out on raising my son myself. My husband and I agreed on that from the start which as you say makes it a lot easier to achieve.

To help with goals and avoid temptation to shop, I have a visual reminder. Right now I'm saving for a barn. I found a picture of the prettiest barn I could find. I have it saved on my cell. It reminds me of what I'm working toward. So I ask myself "Do I want a barn or this handbag, makeup etc?" Every dollar I save snowballs towards my barn.

LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! ❤❤❤ My husband and I just started a KZbin Channel, Kentucky Frey'd Fun, in January. Our reason was to document our Debt Free Journey, following Dave Ramsey's Plan. We took his class a couple years. We didn't have much to pay off, but we finished in March! We're now working on the 3-6month Emergency Fund. We've cut off cable, lowered our bills, try to only eat out once a week. We only have one car (that was the huge debt we paid off 🙈). My husband did Uber/Lyft, worked overtime, sold on Ebay. We run an Airbnb out of our house. We budget. We buy the majority of our clothes at thrift stores. And besides our Airbnb income, we live on just my husband's income! We're not parents yet, but I absolutely love being able to stay home to run our Airbnb, take care of the house, cook dinners, spend time with our furbaby, and just be able to spend time with my husband when he gets home and on the weekends instead of having to get chores done. And We can't wait to pay off our house!!! Thank you for sharing this! It's so encouraging to hear other couples our age doing Dave Ramsey's plan, too! ❤❤❤

I was a stay at home Mom. Raised two boys. Hubby and I collected cans at the parks. We collected scrap metal. I babysat for women who did work but only during the hours my boys were at school. We sold things. Hubby worked on cars. I did my own hair. I did others hair. I always had designer clothing before being married. I gave it up. So much more. Like you said, my Hubby and I got so much closer doing all that together. We didn't go by anyone's plan ( maybe I should have published one) we just did what we had to to survive and I wouldn't change a thing.

LOVE THIS VIDEO! What about during Christmas time, did y'all still get people gifts while doing the baby steps?
@TilVacuumDoUsPart6 жыл бұрын
Sorry I answered this question but not sure where it went. Yes we did! We always save during the year to pay cash for gifts and during those years they were much cheaper gifts. We just got creative. Christmas is so much more than gift giving. Once you are out of debt you can have the biggest Christmas you desire!!
