You gave very good tips and I am sure you are helping lots of people. I just would like to tell your viewers how important it is to put extra money into your retirement funds at work. Overtime you will have a big chunk of money. I am a lot older than you...my husband and I are retired and we are living very comfortably using our retirement and savings. We even recently built a new house and paid cash for it. Saving is so worth it! Jackie from Indiana

You 2 are very smart. I agree with y’all about Chase not quitting his job. I wouldn’t do that either. It seems to be (You Tube) unpredictable to totally depend on it. I know some channels spouses totally quit their jobs and do it full time. More power to them but it would definitely scare me. Have a wonderful day!

There is some good stuff here. Thanks :) I really like your idea on shopping online. This month we shopped online all month and yes, the individual groceries do cost more. However, when we compared it to what we spent the same month last year, it came out to a 10 dollar difference. Only this year we have a baby more than we did last year (which means diapers, wipes and more). So we still spent less by buying online. We are actually working on a video right now on how being organized saves us money. Such an important topic! Thanks for a good video.

This is really timely. My plan is to retire early in two years, so I'm focusing on paying off credit card debt. I'm fortunate because my husband pays the mortgage and larger bills and we have a tenant which offsets smaller household bills/emergency fund. It's good to hear questions people have because it shows that lots of people give this subject thought but don't always know how to go about a solution. One tip I'm following is pay off my smaller balances, then use that money towards larger balances. This is a good way to feel accomplished and motivates to keep going.

Your finance videos are some of my favorites because you are so much like my husband and me! The main difference is we do use a credit card as an income stream. It’s a card that pays cash back on every purchase, so we use it for everything we can, gas, groceries, utilities, everything! Then we have it auto-paid in full out of checking every single month so the cash back is meaningful and we never pay interest. That check is fun to get and gets treated like any paycheck! I started my own KZbin channel just today, so I’ll have to figure out how to get everything unsubscribed and subscribed under my channel name so I can comment as my new self and give my new channel a little boost. This is thanks to you! I have watched you about a year, and I’ve felt more and more called to do it. My topics will be somewhat, okay quite a LOT different, from yours, but hopefully there are people in the world that will find it helpful and be blessed by it in some way. I’m trying not to stare and see if I have followers. I remember you saying you drove yourself bananas at the beginning doing things like that. I asked my hubby to please subscribe to see what happens, like if I get notified or anything (probably not). Okay, I might be obsessing a LITTLE bit. Lol! Anyway, thanks for all the little tips along the way, and this was a great video! 👍

I love to hear others living a debt free life with how much society pushes "debt if you qualify" mentality and norms. We use our credit card as a debit card to build credit. It's paid off immediately. 😊💕🌸 The best way I've learned to save money on groceries is to take inventory of my pantry, freezer, and fridge before making a shopping list. You would be amazed.

This video couldn’t come at a more perfect time! So many of our family are upgrading right now to bigger and newer houses and they are pressuring us to buy again. Your right about dreaming. I have to remind us (my hubby and I) that our dream is to be completely out of debt by the time we are 40. And if we keep on track that goal will be a reality. Our house may not be big or fancy by any means, but as a small family of 3, we don’t need anything bigger. Thanks for the reminder! “Dream of what life will be like after debt”

I totally agree. I always spend less doing Walmart grocery pick up because if I see a new product, new flavored product in store I would HAVE to try it. Staying out of the store and away from impulse temptations is KEY!!! Also when I used to shop at our local grocery store they had a Starbucks in store.... THAT IS DANGEROUS! I’d feel like, yeah I’ll treat myself while I shop. $5 + on coffee each trip.. 😯 Great tips guys. It took us longer (than you youngsters;) to figure this stuff out but once you see it, you can’t unsee it!

We are in Atlanta, Ga. and I shop at Kroger. I use their pick up service too and they do take coupons!
@tinawest24055 жыл бұрын
We do couponing and have a stock pile started in basement. It satisfying to know, that if I need shampoo it’s right downstairs and it was close to free. I think it harder to budget when there are several kids to care for in the mix even on 2 incomes. We don’t smoke although my husband will not give up his coffee on the way into work. It’s his’ thing. Yard sale sites on fb are a great way to shop aside from thrift shops. Big lots has good deals on some things. Tj maxx carries high end makeup and brand names for cheap. Some stores are going out of business so, good time to hit them. Payless, Charlotte Russe, Sears, and many more... Hit the clearance racks 1st... a bunch of good tips here...
@TilVacuumDoUsPart5 жыл бұрын
We used to coupon too! 😉

Also look into instacart app with your local stores. Midwest/STL now offers local delivery via Instacart. Bonus they have moved their coupons to digital on app attached to your cell number. So it allows you use manufacture coupons, etc. If you plan your breakfast lunch and dinners for the week with snacks you can even get your bill lower with the sales.

@TilVacuumDoUsPart5 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry about interest rates! Start with the card with the smallest amount on it. Go from smallest debt to largest. It will help keep you motivated that way. 😉
@sarahhatcher72835 жыл бұрын
Y’all are so financially savvy! Working in the financial industry for some time now y’all hit the nail on the head! I will say though, having open credit does help your credit a lot. We have a thing called a thin file where if you haven’t had established credit in years or you’re a first time buyer, you’re kinda limited on financing. There are options now a days though! Keep up the good work! It’s definitely peace of mind knowing you’re not drowning in debt especially credit card debt! I say too, if you’re serious about paying off debt but can’t afford to pay it off and have a high interest rate, it’s good to consolidate all you’re credit cards into a personal loan with a low fixed rate and payment. It really helps! Credit cards are evil lol they can really help establish credit but if you’re not careful, companies will get you suckered into getting one for each store you shop at. DO NOT DO THAT LOL keep atleast one credit card for certain purposes and really do your research on who you open a credit card with! Credit card companies have the highest rates and you maybe having 0% at first but if you keep using it, the interest rate will eventually be sky high and will sky rocket your monthly payment. Be careful!

Glad to know hubby and I are not the only boring people.. lol. We use the Dave Ramsey "Everydollar" app to do our budget. It's been a game changer in our finances. We do cash envelopes for Groceries, Eating out, Pocket money and Entertainment/giving. We tithe to our church and I now have cash for those pop ups at church when the youth or other fund raisers are going on. In the pass it would have put us on the spot for the week, but with the budget I know what we have set aside for extra giving and it is such a blessing to be able to do this now with peace. We also do sinking funds, but not cash envelopes for this. I transfer the money each month into a MM account We have 6 sinking funds. Property taxes, House Ins, Auto(we need a new car), Household repairs, Vacation and Christmas. These are the things that will happen always. No we don't always go on vacations, but we do day trip at times and the money helps! OH and we always put money in savings. I could go on here about how important this is. It's going to rain, as Dave would say. Love your channel!

This is very inspiring and helpful. Thanks for sharing. I will be trying the online grocery shopping. I feel it would help to save money because I usually buy more things than what's written on my list when I buy at the store. Do you buy online for things you need for your home, for example toilet paper, paper towels etc and do you have a separate budget for that??

We buy all those paper products with our groceries. 😉
