Exactly. I do a lot of buying and selling on craigslist and if people started acting odd I would back out right then and there. I also don't do car deals at nine at night. You have to do what you can to not put yourself at danger. Sad what happened but the signs were there and he shouldn't have met them at that time. Meet in public at a police station something. SO SO sad. I've said this many times and have been saying it for years. As a young adult in Seattle I was always way more scared of a group of spoiled drunk frat boys walking down a dark street than thugs. Rich spoiled kids who never have consequences for their actions are the WORST. I just didn't go to the end of downtown (pioneer sqaure) where they hung out on the weekends because I knew I would get in a fight. Spoiled entitled rich kids are the TRUE DREGS of society.

There's DEFINITELY more missing people connected to this guy. They should go through every single computer or phone or anything else possible and check other Craigslist/ads, ex's, etc. This guy was an aviator too. Who knows who he's killed anywhere else in the country! And maybe Canada should do what American jails/prisons do and read people's incoming-outgoing mail. They could've seen what he was writing to his current gf more quickly.

My husband and I were trying to sell our ram 1500 truck around this time and had gotten a reply from him on Kijiji in Ottawa. I had a bad feeling because he didn’t want to meet at the police station or fire dept but wanted to meet around 7PM that night and offered us $1500 more than asking price. I told my husband I wasn’t comfortable with it so we decided to decline. This came out a few days later and my heart sank.
