I think we underestimate the transformational era in tech happening right in front of us. As the rate of exponential advance in technology overwhelms us, we are not grasping what it represents. This kind of product (that are exclusive to a certain market right now), will be the precursor of every day tech usage in the next 10 years. Imagine a doctor doing a surgery across the room or even another state with just a headset and his hands or simple things like being able to do your every day office work without the need of a monitor, maybe cook a perfect dish without following a recipe in your phone. Combined with home appliances, augmented reality will be the living proof of what sci-fi movies promised us in the 90's.

People are not comprehending this technology in the same way people didn't understand the potential of the internet at first. The is a world changer. Augmented reality combined with AI and Metadata is absolutely incredible. Imagine walking down the street in an unfamiliar city with these or something similar on. Being able to instantly identify objects, buildings, places, people. You could point and pinch at a building and get all its history. You could point a piece of art work and get all the historical info. You could point at a restaurant get the history, menu and reviews without having to google search. AI and metadata combined is insanely powerful. Want a private AI museum tour with all your questions answered immediately and correctly? Done.

@@darealfox_streamswhile that is the norm in some cases (tv didnt evolve much - only with clarity specs, smart tv capabilities and basic things like this) this will evolve into something much more complex and sophisticated, the macbook only got more expensive, the iphone only got more expensive until they reached their threshold . Sure factor in inflation but even still it will 100% get more expensive before it gets cheaper as they push the limits and then it may come down for a basic model and then we will again see a “pro” version and then a “pro max” or whatever they will call it. I see this happening. Once this thing can run three independent screens simultaneously it will become extremely invaluable to all creators both professional and basic users.

Quest 3 owner here, absolutely agree. Meta have thrown more money at VR than every other company combined but I think it was losing it. The public just didn't catch the wave with VR like we thought would happen. But Apple have set VR on fire again. Its raging. I've never seen so many companies pivot so hard towards something. Google and samsung making a headset to rival the Vision. Meta themselves must have a Vision beater in the works and Apple have opened the doors to high end. $500 is no longer the ceiling. $3500 is insane but it moves the needle in the publics mind. If a Quest 4 came out this year for $999 it would fly off the shelves. If Apple hadn't launched anything, it would die a death just like the Quest Pro did that was $1500 btw and now less than a grand. Its a wild new market and I just hope and pray that Valve who have been working on a new headset in secret but it was rumoured it had been cancelled. I hope they finally roll that out because Valve working with the kind of tech in the Vision Pro at that level. OMG mind blowing what they could do! fingers are crossed but bravo to Apple for somehow making VR great again. Only now we call it spatial computing or just.....magical hehe

its very Apple to do that. They like to own the term. Like not 4K display or 8k, its a Retina display. And only Apple call it that. I see Google and Samsung are trying to do this now too in their new products. But one thing is for sure. No one is going to call these headsets, spatial computers. @@eulehund99 At the time, the Apple Watch was nowhere near the price point for regular smart watches at the time (especially since there was little competition and most were cheap, pretty low quality watches). They are both VR headsets, however saying that is diminishing the whole devices and their capabilities. They are vastly different in the amount of technology they use and the capability of the products. The Vision Pro is over engineered as hell. It takes them $1,200 to manufacture for example and they spent $100b in R&D over the idea of “spatial computing” within the past 5 years (for this specific product, an estimated $20b), so it’s definitely going to be more expensive. There are so many experiences and technologies that you simply can’t have on other headsets that the Vision Pro just opened up. It’s kind of like the iPhone: wasn’t the first phone, but definitely revolutionized the market.

Depends on how you frame it. Apple isn't miles ahead of the competition. The competition can do this, but chooses to be more accessible and game focused. In that sense it isn't competition. It's a different user base. It's like comparing a pc to games consoles.

@@jammypockets606excatly, other companies never questioned why a normal person would care for a VR headset after the initial hype of testing it. Apple is taking a big gamble and we gotta see what people say aftee the hype dies down a bit.

@@Gannava6this is not something that will die out. People are always clamming for the next big thing. Smartphones and tablets have reached their peak. This is the future. Give it 3-4 more years and skeptics like yourself will be using one all of the time
@Gannava6
@Gannava6 4 ай бұрын
@@laurenslee9134 Just because it is new and by Apple doesn't mean it will be the next big thing that people want. Smartphones people will always want because of the power and usefulness in a small size. Same to a degree with watches. Yes the actual need to buy a new one has plateaued but these are devices that people would still want / need. iPads are somewhat useful between the phone and laptop. This was supposed to be the laptop killer but that never eventuated and laptops are still going strong now. VR headsets, many companies have tried and tried and failed and Apple will follow the same path but to a lesser degree because they are "Apple". In terms of usefulness it will just be an "occasional" thing that you will put on and use. Normal people are not doing to spend time doing things in VR all the time that they could easily and quickly achieve using their phone. It maybe novel at first yes but it will wear off rather quickly.
