I counted 10 blocks in the video. Duncan should be credited with a 21/20/10/10!

If you actually go through and count the blocks yourself, he gets 10 blocks. The Spurs stats guy is woeful for recording blocks. Shafted of a quadruple double in the closeout game of the Finals.

checked out the 5:38 and 5:58 mark of the video, it should have counted. Tim Duncan should have gotten his quadruple-double with those two blocks, but for some unknown reason, it wasn't. PLEASE SHARE THIS AND LETS GET THIS CHANGED!!!!!

Henry B So technically he does have a quadruple double in his career.
@hateater2496
@hateater2496 9 жыл бұрын
+Henry B The 5:58 block looks to me like it goes to Robinson. I'm not sure why the block at 5:38 was ruled something else, though. It was pretty obvious Kittles was trying a scoop layup. Even so, that puts Duncan at 9 blocks instead of 10. :-{

One of the greatest games ever played. Could very well be the best finals game ever. 21 points + 20 points from assists + 20 points taken away from blocks = 60 point value to his team And don't forget the 20 rebounds

i am probably going to cry the day duncan retires. i was 6 years old when duncan lead the spurs to their first championship in 99, and ive basically grown up as a spoiled nba fan living in the city of san antonio because duncan has been nothing short of magnificent for the entirety of his career and the majority of my life so far. i hope my city appreciates all that duncan has done and the impact he has had on our town because he is truly a "once in a generation" player and he will be missed dearly

BTW they mention who Kobe had next to him those years and his cast. Tim Duncan had an old BANGED up D Rob with a bad back who could hardly play! Antonio Daniels, A 19 year old ROOKIE PARKER, Cherokee Parks, Mark Bryant, Danny Ferry, Steve Smith (Who was old and slow as hell) and Bruce Bowen (Who was great on D but the O was bad outside of Tim) and he lead them to 58 DAMN WINS and a second round appearance! How the hell in 02 do you lead that team to 58 wins? Thats amazing.

The thing I like most about TD is his underrated clutch factor. Always hitting key shots and yammin on younger, more athletic forwards who fall asleep on their defensive assignment.

The single greatest memory of this game, however, is David Robinson, in what I believe were his last points as a Spur, with the spin move and reverse layup leaving a couple of younger defenders stunned at how he did it.

has a kobe fan I have to say.... bravo tim Duncan. you have got my vote for the BEST player of this generation., and this game is one of the reasons why. I have never seen Kobe just DOMINATE a game like this, especially a NBA finals game at that. Kobe could never do this in a finals game at all. In all five titles, ( and 04, and 08) I have yet to see kobe just dominate an NBA finals game like this I don't care who it is against. With his shooting, rebounding, passing, Defensive efforts and just his all around skill Duncan has proven time and time again that age is just a number and Duncan is the best player of the Post-Jordan era. Bravo Timmy Bravo!

What really makes Tim Duncan as one of the greatest defenders of all time is he positions himself with so much accuracy and his fundamentals in blocks in on par with Bill Russell because most of his blocks goes to his teammates hands. He doesn't swat the ball, like Howard or the flashy bigs, out of bounds, but he puts another effort for another possession to his teammates. Truly a Big Fundamental, greatest power-forward of all time.

Tim Duncan is the greatest Low-post player, rebounder, shot-blocker and passing big man of his generation. Kareem was the Wilt of his generation, Hakeem was the Kareem of his generation and finally Duncan is the Hakeem of his generation. Do you know what these great big men have in common? Most amazing footwork which enabled them to dominate the low post offensively, and become the best rebounders and shot - blockers of their age.

Duncan is a great player, probably one of top 10 of all time. Love watching him play. But how do Kobe's achievements pale in comparison? He is a 5 time champion, 15x all star, MVP, 2x finals MVP, 10x NBA first team, 9x NBA all defensive first team, and 2x NBA scoring champion. Duncan has a very long and impressive list of his own. Point is that they are both great players.

Tim though was on a different level, 95 Hakeem and 92 Jordan Level that year, just on a different planet!

He actually got 10 blocks and got completely robbed of a quad double, which would have been only the 5th ever official, 10th unofficial. It's insane they gave one of his to Robinson (no disrespect but it was Duncan who blocked it) and one of his blocks they didn't count! This makes me mad because Tim is a hall of famer and one of the greatest so this feat would have really completed his amazing career.

I still think this performance was more impressive than Kobe's 81 because he contributed to the game in all facets of it. Not just scoring. He had 20 rebounds, which is hard to do, 10 assists, which is exceedingly rare for a big man, and 8 and what I think should be 10 blocks, which is just insane. What a performance, in the NBA Finals with a championship on the line no less.
