Some of that may come from him being able to squeeze in a championship with Boston at the tail end of his career. That can really take a whole hell of a lot of pressure off.
@JudithAnderson-wj3cg4 ай бұрын
That said I t think KG was without a doubt was a more talented player. Timmy had the team around him but he was also very smart & had his fundamentals polished as well as anyone who’s ever played the game. One thing I wish players did more & he was awesome at was using the backboard. Most people don’t use it at all. But from 5-15’ or so it actually makes it easier. I wonder if that wasn’t pushed by coach pop cause I remember some other players on the spurs back then used it pretty well too. Not as much as Duncan but Ginobli or Parker I think used it a decent amount as well.🤷♂️👍🏼 Spurs has hell of teams in aughts that’s for certain. I personally think it was one of the best dynasty’s in all of sports, with the patriots probably. Simply because they won so many different times with so many different teams & over a very long period of time. I never like Popovich personally, seemed like such a two faced whiny a$$ but I’d likely rate him as the best coach in any league in history as well. He & his teams were one of the biggest nemesis of my team. But also heard way too many stories of him being a jerk to the lower echelon people. I get everyone has bad days but people like him who consistently do it are there worst & it’s a lowly thing to do. Seemed like even when he didn’t have a good of teams they’d still do better than you’d think or than they should’ve. Remember one year they started real poorly, say something like 6-14 & sure enough somehow by the end of the year they’re playing for the postseason. God I hated him though. But I am man enough & can use my head to admit he quite possibly was the absolute pinnacle & peak of coaching not just in the NBA either but sports as a whole.
