I remember this day like it was yesterday. My mother woke me up and all she said “Kobe died…” I didn’t believe her, I was in complete denial. Then I turned on the news and they showed the aftermath of the crash. My heart was broken just from Kobe being gone but then they confirmed that Gianna and her teammates/coaches were also gone, they devastated me. Any plans I had that day were cancelled and the world stood still for me. I still tear up when I think about it. Rest easy to Kobe, Gianna, and others.

kobe is like a son to all of us. We saw him grew as a player; hated and loved by us because he brought so much tears of joy and madness throughout his career. We realized that we witnessed his greatness as he gotten older, he showed who he is, a very humble person, a loving father to his daughters and wife. He is a treasure to me because I hated the man as a raptor fan, though it isn't the same hate as LeBron but more of a big respect to his work ethic and attitude to entertain fans. The fact that he cared for fans, showing up every game without any excuses because people want to see him play, something Kawhi, Durant, lebron and others lack of. Great respect to Kobe. The moment he was about to retire, he has my greatest respect. I will never deny your greatness but I will always hate you being the Greatest.

I woke up in utter shock hearing the tragic news & i just began reminiscing about my middle school days talking heavily about Kobe since he was my favorite athlete growing up. I was speechless & next day my advisor from school asked me "how are u dealing with the news about ur dawg Kobe." I was speechless, Kobe's death was also a wake up call about the uncertainty of life. I was even more sad when I heard his baby GiGi was on board just 13 YEARS OLD baby girl hasn't even lived a life along with her friends nobody should bury their own children
