I remember watching the Pistons loss to the Spurs in 05. The whole series hinged on keeping the best two post defenders on the best defensive team in league history on him at all times to slow him down as much as possible. Games 3-6 they were able to get to him enough to control those games. But the moment he got them both in foul trouble and was able to get some space, it was over before you knew it. Easily one of the greatest to ever do it.

As a longtime Spurs fan and native of SA, I will never forget that day watching the NBA lottery in 1997 and seeing the Spurs winning the #1 overall pick. I jumped up and went nuts screaming because I knew that for at least the next 10 years the Spurs were gonna be championship contenders. I don't think anybody has said negative things about Tim Duncan. Even more impressive is that he doesn't have that ego unlike guys like AI and Melo (before joining Portland). I used to hate him and the Spurs during their heydays because they were simply that good outplaying the bigger names on their respective better teams like Kobe and the Lakers or any LeBron-led teams whether Cleveland or Miami.
