@buddhatortoise Жыл бұрын
A very large amount of that range is growl, subharmonics, and vocal fry, which are things everyone can learn to do, maybe not to the extent he has, but you can learn them and extend your range dramatically too, so generally those things aren't counted as part of someones vocal range, his actual natural range sits at around B flat 1 to A5, putting his actual range at 3.92 octaves, which is amazing, but not 5 octaves

Relaxation, open your throat, let the note drop, kinda like you're dropping a suitcase on the moon. That's how you do chest. Now, if you really wanna get spicy, learn subharmonics. If you know how to fry (basically close your throat and imitate a creaking door). Fry a low note (for me, C2) that's your lowest chest, but fry it. Then, lightly chest a note 4 tones higher (for me, an F2), and kinda switch between the two techniques, but don't let the pitch bend. If you do this correctly, a note an octave below the chest note (for me, F1) should just pop out. This is called subharmonics. Subharmonics make super powerful low notes, but it is difficult. Geoff Castelucci does this all the time, and Russian contra-basses do this as well. (called Oktavists or Basso profundos, depending on how low they can go.) I can subharmonic out a C1 (close to the B0 that Tim growl) on a good day, and all the way up to Bb1 (above Ring of Fire ending growl.)
@chillixielh84445 жыл бұрын
