i don´t actually like country, but i came here to see him cause many people say he is the best country player in the world. as guitarist, i can tell you this guy has insane skills feeling. his tecnique is perfect and clean... woow.

im not a huge country fan per se either but i loved this. This guy is jaw dropping good, outfreakinstanding in every way and classy enough to not be greedy with solos. Just seems like a likeable guy, I'd pay good hard earned money to watch him play anything! I'd feel honored to watch him tune a damm guitar!

javier gallegos he can also play rock jazz heavy metal blues finger tapping. acoustic. I wouldn't be surprised if he could play classical. but yes his tech. skills are unreal.

What's so special about this guy? Sure he can play super fast, he can chicken pick better than anyone else, he plays slide, he can play every style there is, he can sing, he is a humble and very likeable man and he makes everyone who thinks he/she can play guitar want to give up or get really inspired. I guess I just answered my question.

I agree with you pardner but go to the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention in Nashville some time and there are 2,000 guys walking around that play on this level. I think Johnny Hiland is amazing, but hard as it is to believe, he's on the top elete level of pickers - but he ain't the only one. Do a KZbin serach for Wesley Crider - on my channel BigRon2176. Dave s True and his hands are pretty small too. But if you have a passion and a will the finger is going to find its way. JH started playing when he was 3 years old or something and that is almost scary. I wish I had that seamless left-right brain constitution. No matter how much I practise, its not gonna happen. Considering the drawbacks JH has had to face, he really deserves that talent and we are all very grateful. God bless Johnny Hiland (please God, make him stop drinking soft drinks. He so don´t need it)!!!

I've also gigged with Tim on keys and did a studio session with Mike Daly. Nashville is full of stud players. And if you don't like country look up the Wooten Brothers .
