Johnny Hiland is one of the top session players in Nashville. You'll not find a more versatile player anywhere. He's also one heck of a great guy. I think the thing about Johnny that makes him so great is that not only can he play many styles but all the styles he plays he owns them. He's a very special player as well as a very special human being.

OMG! Johnny Hiland is my new favorite. Just watched him for the first time today. He has that dirty, nasty, Texas blues sound down. He makes it like hot swamp water that gets in your boots no matter what you try. I can smell the mesquite from Virginia while listening online. God bless you-tube. The best I've ever heard anybody on a PRS guitar . Most players that seem to play them use a high gain sound whereas the way Johnny plays brings out the true sound of the guitar. Of course he'd make my mothers broom sound good . The man can play !

Incredible guitar playing! I honestly just discovered this guy and am truly blown away by his talent. What amazing feel and tone, combined with awesome technique. I haven't heard blues this good since SRV left us. Genius comes in all shapes and sizes, but you know it when you hear it and this boy has it in spades!

It's called being a contributing factor less pretentiousness. It's an aura and an essence one senses when they become one with the music both player and listener alike. Johnny can reel you in because he believes what he's playing. He's inside the music not outside where you can't feel him and only see him. I see guitarists today playing 57,000 notes per second and all I see is a guitarist playing 57,000 notes per second. When Johnny plays it's soul without eyes but extraordinary vision.

He is so goddamned frickin' FANTASTIC it should be illegal! I have been a Johnny fan for a while now, but every time I hear him play, it's new and refreshing, never the same old boring crap! He's playing here like SRV and the OLD ( Duane Allman ) Allman Bros. are sharing the stage! I think both SRV and Duane would have absoulutely flipped out over Johnny, it's about time he's given the credit that is his so richly due!
