***** This is all total BS,Jason. Take the Soyuz 7K-T as an example. It came down at such a massive descent velocity,that the two astronauts onboard were subjected to over 15g's. But thier descent velocity and relative acceleration would have been LESS than that of thier ascent acceleration/velocity,but that equated to a steady 2-3 g's from the point of lift off all the way through to escape velocity. Nah. Wt*??

How come the rocket turns from travelling vertically and starts travelling horizontally around 0:50? Isn't it supposed to be going up into space?
@kimclussor9 жыл бұрын
+Wits' End So it doesn't crash into the dome? :D Its all a hoax..
@TheShadixDarkkon9 жыл бұрын
+Wits' End For a spacecraft to stay in outer space it has to travel horizontally at a speed great enough to keep it from reentering the atmosphere. For earth, above 150km is about high enough to remain in orbit for a decent amount of time. Simply going up is not enough, however. The space vehicle must also travel sideways so that while gravity is pulling it towards the center of the mass it is near, it's velocity moves it away from the body as well. It's fairy difficult to explain in writing, but if you watch some videos or check out the game Kerbal Space Program you'll get a much more intuitive feel for how space travel works.
@WitsEnds9 жыл бұрын
TheShadixDarkkon Okay so in other words it's spiralling away from the earth at a slight angle until it enters space? Do you know if the rocket has to orbit the earth several times until it passes through the atmosphere then?

+TheShadixDarkkon i was going to say gravity but i guess that counts as the same
