Go for it if you haven't yet. Got my Time AH01 about a year ago even though my BMC TeamMachine was only 2 years old at the time, and I think I'll ride this AH01 until it falls apart.

Nice review. I have a similarly built ADHX and my experience is quite similar to yours. I live in an area that has a few hills a lot of various types of gravel. I think it excels when I just want to ride without planning a route, meander through some hills and take gravel paths. While I have also taken it on some more sandy gravel rides, I did not enjoy this so much (on Tufo 36 speeder/thundero). However on hard gravel, the bike and tyre combo is great.

Nice overview. Enjoyed that 👍. I ended up ordering a LOOK 765 Optimum. Similar gearing and seat post but with Corima wheels and 32mm Pirelli tyres. Can't wait to pick it up next week. Also know what you mean about Ti.

Know what you mean about the rain in SoCal wrecking some of best time of year to ride before the summer inland heat. Local clay dirt trails and roads in hills and long false flats next to the San Gabriel Mountains is now clay adobe mud that leaves ruts and destroys bike parts. Live in one thoes locations where just a easy ride means 1000ft climbing in 10 miles.

Yep...my ride the other day was 100 yds of bike carry uphill and then a bit of shoe goo scraping. THEN the sandy soil and pedaling finally. But the ground is so saturated. Just oozing out of the ground everywhere. Nice to see, but inconvenient. gg

Hey Old Guy, great video..just found your channel.. question for you- was the ADHX 45 available when you got this bike, and, if not, would you have considered it if it had been available? I'm looking at a bike that can do gravel as well, but not looking for a drop-bar MTB ;), I would assume a 45mm tire (as on the ADHX 45) would be more than enough for anything i want to ride one and also give me the option of a second wheelset for road tires.. thoughts? Thanks!!
@oldguyandabike3 ай бұрын
It was not. That come out later on and I was looking for a true road bike, although the ability to run up to a 38mm tire on the ADHX was nice (I have never done that though). So I would not have taken the slight geometry hit on the '45' version (pretty much just longer chain stays) as it would have done nothing for me. That said, I think the '45' would be a GREAT choice for a one-bike-solution build. Based on my time on the ADHX, I think it would be quite good as a road bike as long as you were not looking to be the pointy end of the spear and, while it would be a bit steep in geo for my tastes here out west, it should be quite good in the dirt as well. gg

Something about us older guys: somehow, in the back of our minds, we know we will be back on a metal bike in the end. Carbon is like an interesting break, nothing more. At 75, I'm back on metal after 30 years on carbon, and finally feel settled....

If I had adhx money, I'd be buying Ti. The bike is very nice, but it's plastic, just like all other carbon bikes. Other than say a Moots, I'm not sure the perfect bike exists. Personally I'd buy a Litespeed G2, if it had internal routing and a GT logo on it, it would be perfect.
