How do you feel about the weapon switching becoming a staple of this series? Personally I felt like it was a neat gimmick once but has been weighing these games down ever since.
@Multibrawlr Жыл бұрын
I think they add strategic depth, which is nice, but consequently slow down the pacing of the game. The "wait" transitions are longer, likely to give the player more time to switch weapons. Time Crisis II, which mostly stuck you with one weapon, seems much faster by comparison. Time Crisis 3's machine gun is pretty overpowered, as in Time Crisis 4 and 5, the it was nerfed. I don't like the special weapons in Time Crisis 5 because they feel super underutilized, and your pistol is much more powerful anyway. I kind of wish that game was designed *without* special weapons.

I'd say TC4 is where weapon switching starts to drag down the experience somewhat, usually due to its relation to Terror Bites. Fighting them mostly involves spraying with whatever weapon the game recommends you to use, which I don't really find to be engaging. Although I do like moments where you fight heavily armored soldiers and are pushed into alternating between the machine gun and shotgun. It's pretty satisfying making them stumble from a hailstorm of bullets. With TC5 though, the weapons basically only exist for scoring, not much else.

@Multibrawlr Or have the special weapons used the same way as TC2, only have special weapons used in certain scenarios

@@mrhelitosis7564 Definitely. One of my favorite cutscenes in the game, hands-down.

My favorite Time Crisis cutscene, right up there with the opening of Time Crisis II when Jakov Kinisky(Stage 1 boss) slaps Christy Ryan when they're about to kidnap her over the leakage of the nuclear satellite being launched by Ernesto Diaz.

Another good run. I used to play TC3 a lot with a third-party GunCon (which had a horrendous amount of trigger pull), so I have a lot of fondness for this game. It is indeed a really tough game; I must have done dozens of playthroughs to be able to 1CC. I mostly play on Wesley's side, which I find to be somewhat easier since generally, less enemies are focused on him, like in the scene in 14:22. Also deals with a little less surprise red soldiers, it seems. Even in TC2, I felt that the scoring was a bit strict with its no-miss bonus, so TC3 would drive me crazy in terms of score runs. I find this game's soundtrack to be fantastic as well. A lot of bombastic and energetic tracks that really fit the action movie tone the game has. My favorites are Get Ready, Unstoppable VSSE, and Final Test. Also, I see why the OBS flash filter I suggested doesn't work here. Your first shot flashes the screen instantly, but consecutive shots fired rapidly will make the flash fade in instead, which the plugin can't pick up effectively. At least this explains why I felt TC3's screen flashes were more bearable.

Thanks for watching! I really appreciate the suggestion with the filter, will keep it in OBS for future games that use screen flashing. And yeah, I love Unstoppable VSSE too!

@@Multibrawlr Forgot to mention, but do you also plan on playing Rescue Mission? Maybe just for 1CC, since it's considerably longer (and way harder) than Arcade mode.
@Multibrawlr Жыл бұрын
@@TripleAAA7331 I can do it, sure. Forgot about Rescue Mission, actually. However I've gotten pretty burnt out from making these videos, and there's also personal stuff to deal with, so it may take some time before I tackle Rescue Mission. Also should give myself more time to practice and get a better run, rather than rush out videos every week.

@@Multibrawlr 3 is my absolute favorite. TC 4 is my next favorite followed by 2, then Project Titan, then 1, then 5. And I mean that with all due respect.

Nice. For me, it goes 2 > 3 > 4 > 1 > 5. Haven't played Project Titan yet. Time Crisis 4 has a pretty cool scoring system, I've been playing and enjoying that one more over time. I do play Time Crisis 5 occasionally to try enjoying it, but overall I think the other games have better pacing and gunplay.

I hear ya, man. TC 3 is the only one I've played myself, and I only got as far as the middle of stage 2. I like 4 because of the graphics and the expanded story. Really inspiring stuff.

Before Alan and Wesley, there was Richard Miller and Keith and Robert. Can't get enough of those guys. I still like Giorgio and Evan in Time Crisis 4. Luke and Marc in Time Crisis 5 are also great. They helped Keith Martin expose the VSSE traitor, who happened to be Robert Baxter.
