Broooo this is such a concept though, a Karl who has seen EVERYTHING who needn't boundaries anymore, who is distant and only will to fight is because of pure want since he has no need anymore. A Karl who is the purest form of chaotic good there ever could be. And yet still hangs onto the dear and close to him even though he has no need to. In this form, this state of mind, this state of power. He hangs onto what is dear to him and what he thinks is right. That is just a fucking amazing character idea, it's incredibly unique and I love it.

This speech was already an emotional one, but paired with this final altercation between inbetween karl and dream, the possibility of dream deciding the world he has he doesn't want fixed by karl, and then seeing everything laid bare. all of karl's journeys flooding him, drenching him to tears. powerful stuff. ya nailed it

Tommy beat Dream in the disc war, and in the finale, tubbo and Tommy “won” by the lore of everyone coming to save them. Ranboo, has the power to break blocks with his hands and the power of teleportation *has been hinted at* If DreamSMP characters get more powers, pvp won’t matter. For instance, if Karl is in DreamXD’s dimension, there’s nothing they can do against a creative mode Karl. ;)

But I do enjoy this interpretation of him; like after he's time-traveled many times and has gathered wisdom and all that good stuff. I'm legitimately tearing up right now this was so well done and I just wish I had the proper words to communicate just how wonderful it was. The emotion, the parallels between the dialogue and the moments in time, how it switches from the L'Mantree growing to the burned bits, the snippits of everyone whose been impacted by each choice that's been made through the narrative of the smp, the way that you had him catch the axe to explain the staggered breathing in his speech!! The way it zooms in on the two rings when he says "I've lost things you would never understand" like I?? Bro?? I am crying in the club?? The SHOT OF QUACKITY AND SAPNAP CLINGING TO EACH OTHER ONLY TO SHOW THAT ITS KARL WHOSE SPEAKING,,, AND THE SPIRALS IN HIS EYES AS HE DECIDES TO GIVE DREAM EXACTLY WHAT HE'S ASKING FOR- And then in the end, as he's screaming for him to take it all I only caught the tears in like my third watch through and it was just another gut punch on top of the ones I was already suffering from but like,,, in the best way possible. The dramatic framing of everything really heightened the emotions and I didn't even mind how the music swelled up to almost blot out the dialogue because I was swept along getting lost in the emotions I was feeling. Absolutely bravo, 10/10, will be watching whenever I get the chance (and take notes cause dang,,,,, your art is a lil bit breathtaking in a great way my dude)

This was great, very well done. The whole speech really fits Karl. However, I think the speech after 0:45 also fits with Dreams perspective. As not only someone who saw the creation of the world but was its creator, forced to watch as others took his creation and burned it to the ground with conflict and broken friendships. Forced to watch as others took parts of his peaceful world and tore each other apart, bloodshed spreading like disease; all the while publicly villainizing him causing his oldest and closest friends to leave him one by one. Witnessed all of it, the entire tragedy of the server drown in violence, and it broke him.

@@pally3370 Canonically he isn’t a God or hold any Godlike powers, that is DramXD. But as far as I know Dream is the one to create the server. Or at least is it’s founder. And in the beginning Dream wasn’t even a ruler or anything like a king. He was more of a part time Sheriff at the start, all the trouble started when Tommy and then later his friends started breaking the few rules the server had.

I just wanted you to know that this is the single most amazing piece of media my eyes have been graced to see. I am not exaggerating, I first saw this years ago and it has always stuck with me in the back of my mind, sometimes I just get the urge every so often to come back and watch it on loop for what seems like hours. I’ve just been rewatching and rewatching this animatic because it’s such a masterpiece that I feel the need to finally drop a comment because it deserves it. The use of the speech from the Eleventh Doctor, which lets out an image of how the Doctor has lived for a long time and therefore, has known too much, and lost a lot. And holy cow, Karl fits perfectly in the position, traveling more and more through time, learning each time a new story, a new way, but losing himself in the process until he becomes at the end the keeper of the time, with the knowledge of the universe at the cost of his own self! I love this. Karl as a Time Lord, him confronting Dream in order to protect the only place he has known to be home, watching every member of the server appear for a least a few seconds, it’s so beautiful. Personally, I have two favorite scenes from this: 1) When Jack Manifold appears, and how you use the phrase of “watching universes freeze” for him as a parallel of how he came back from death and therefore, stopped in a way his ending! 2) When Karl shows Dream his power. In a way, he’s showing Dream everything he has known and everything he has suffered, and that’s why Dream cries at the end: he has been drowned on Karl’s memories, has feel his pain, and sorrow and sadness, and finds himself unable to just understand all of it. So yeah, thank you so much for drawing this masterpiece! It has become one of my favorite animatics from the DSMP! Keep up the good work, because woah, you’re really an amazing artist!! ✨

I actually came up with a theory while watching this What if Dream _was_ a god? Specifically, a young god who still has to prove his worth. Ok so I love this, but also consider: an old god who fell from grace because of something he did, so now he is just an immortal trying to ascend again. He was a god of attachments and war, manipulation and bloodshed, but he did something terrible and Dream XD had to stop him. It would explain why he views people more as objects then anything, and seems to have powers most players wouldn’t. Like, with ranboo’s mind control or really anything involving ranboo. (This takes me into a whole different theory but I have no proof on it and just think it’s cool.) but consider him just knowing he’ll outlive George and snapnap so he distances himself from them. Idk tho thanks for reading my rambling.)

You got tears from my eyes and you are going to know how much I love this. I was searching around the internet doing as one does when streamers are streaming Dream SMP. I saw the screencap on the top page of the tag on Tumblr, didn't give it much thought, I was going to come back and look later. Cycled through streamers, landed on Sam, who was doing a media share stream. I was using him for background noise and then this video got shared. I just so happened to be looking back at the stream and saw it was an animatic with Doctor Who audio. I gave it my full attention and Oh. My. God. I had no idea who was talking, I thought it was Ranboo and then I thought it was Dream XD giving a god smackdown to a man who had run wild in his land. AND then the reveal. I got it when he said take my memories, it was like my brain lit up and connected all the dots. Karl. A person who started and faced hardships and toiled. Who loved and lost, and traveled all over to see stories to make him understand. AND THEN YOUR ART. The timing. The flashing of the joys, of the love to the other characters... techno is a forest... showing the good and the bad. You showed how people started and how they changed, where they were led, and how they were hurt. You showed character build-up and all the relationships. I loved the staff summoning and the eyes. You showed Karl being badass. And you showed him being kind. You showed him hurting and then standing over his enemy with tears. You did a really damn good job. I fucking love the artists of this community.

I cant tell you how much this animatic makes me reminisce about the good old days of the smp. The story of the dream smp is beautiful. And not even the main part of plot ITS THE SIDE STORIES of the different characters in it!! Like Alyssa and Callahan !! Their relationship was amazing and in this animatic you showed it really well how even tho they werent part of the main plot or story of the dream smp, they still had a story of their own and even showing it as "Loss" is SO MUCH MORE sad.

In this story hes broken man who is "longing for the lives of others" and is "just a parasite eaten out with jealousy and envy" after all hes been through like losing george and sapnap and losing the respect of others in his own smp, hes power hungry and just wants to have control again. Okay, so that was *perfect* Utter, beautiful P e r f e c t i o n You drew me in with this story and I haven't felt this since sadist and wolfy's animatics. :'DDD How are you so good GOd you unDERRRATED The audio _the fucking audio was amazing._ It fit everything so well and I love the whole story that was told with this one animatic!! There was so much emotions going on in this as you referenced a lot of the most important parts of the story. I only began to realize that the one talking was Karl, near the end. The part where Karl says "take my memories" hit hard, like he was telling Dream to see all the lives Karl himself had experienced, to attempt to show Dream the meaning of the people and the meaning of lives. I love to think that Karl is completely human in this too. That would make his standing in the world a lot more interesting than if he were actually a god. The parts of ancestors kind of make a lot of sense, because of the Tales from the SMP, where the ancestors look like him (since they are played by the same people) and the omg _t e a r s_ from the people in this animatic just Hits hard, y'know? After about two months of searching, I have stumbled upon this masterpiece again. I watched this when it first came out, and it was powerful then. I didn't fully understand it, I didn't understand that Karl was the speaker, I didn't understand why. Now, though, I understand what makes it so powerful. The struggle Karl has been through, his experiences, the pain of losing his fiancés, the memories slowly slipping out of his grasp, the tragedies he is forced to document. Karl been through everything, seen it all. Every story, every moment, every hurt, every betrayal, every tragedy, and he offers it to Dream, to see, to take, to watch, to listen. And to understand what Dream brought to this world by falling. And Dream can't bear the pain. He falls to his knees, sobbing, stunned. And Karl simply stands before him, impassive, nothing more to say.

I love that in parts of the speech it sounds like other people are also talking lightly (not the singing coming through from the audio) but almost like a light echo. Almost like Karl is speaking for all those he met. I think it was a bug in the audio but I love it
