Absolutely loved that perfect condition shoot from 2 years ago 👍 Agreed fog is a real bastard to shoot at times. I’ve had very little success finding a decent composition when I do low hanging fog and clear skies 🤷♂️ Another good watch 👍

Cheers Josh, certainly hard to get it right and be in the right place at the right time. There ares some areas where fog kinda forms like clockwork, but around where I live in Taupo I find it totally unpredictable so it's often a lot of trial and error and with some luck thrown in!

I've never had the chance to shoot fog before, but I can imagine how hard it is to plan. Wonderful shot from the archives at the end! Regarding the shutter controllers, I know many people say they're reliable, but I've had two of them fail on me in the past. In the end I spent more cash and got a slightly bigger one (the Impulsfoto SMDV Timer Remote Shutter Release). It seems vastly superior in quality to the cheap ones, and has worked flawlessly. It does have a green backlit display which is moderately bright so you have to be careful with light spillage, but personally I prefer this because my eyes aren't that great so I find the usual sort hard to see properly. You have to order the remote for a particular camera cable type, and it comes with a detachable cable to suit. The cable's great because it has a collar that screws into the unit, and I thought that would be a good way to use the thing on both my cameras (I have a Sony and a Nikon)... however, it turns out that the cables are seemingly impossible to buy separately, and even if you get a standard cable with a 3.5mm jack on the end, the screw-in cable socket arrangement means that you can't plug it into the unit because the hole is too deep. So if I wanted to control both my cameras I'd have to buy a second remote. Aside from that drawback, I can definitely recommend the product for its build quality. It's given me great service!

Thanks again, yes it's so hit and miss around where I live. Thanks for the info, that's good to know, sounds like a good investment. When set up to do long duration timelapse I'm usually using the ramper as an intervalometer or on some shoots the motion rig controller, so I don't often use this intervalometer. If shooting telephoto at say 200mm focal length I like to really reduce the interval and prefer at times a 1 to 2 sec interval - but I find this impossible to achieve without disabling the autofocus trigger on the intervalometer.
