To the first question about the panning without motorized head: The effect is called 'Ken Burns Effect' and you can find it in Final Cut preinstalled. You simply check the section of the beginning of the clip and the section how it should be in the end of the clip and Ken Burns is doing the rest :)

For those interested in the intervalometer route, the Syrp Genie mini has one integrated, and you can get some pretty decent devices (named several brands like Neewer) for about $20.

Excellent video packed full of great tips! Thank you!🍀👍 Re internal intervalometers and Canon DSLR cameras, the EOS7D mark 2 has a very good one and I assume the new cameras like the 1DX mark 2 and the 5D mark 4 have similar.

Great professional work! I am a beginner but have passion doing time lapse. I made a software that deflickers and removes the noises from time lapse sequence. It is very easy to use and works quite well for me. I was able to capture sunrise/sunset sequences without flickers. I have a few video demos on my channel. It will be great i can hear your professional opinions about the software.

Super cool and useful man! Love all your timelapses, quite inspiring, something to work towards to! In case that you read this and can answer, what would you choose if there was no Sony, Canon or Nikon?

Start by telling you that I appreciate very very very much your work, it's AWESOME, inspire me for my work or travel. Anyway I wanted to ask if the Genie HDR option is helpful. Or do you prefer to do everything in post. Thanks and have a nice day man!.

Thanks! Actually, I don't really use it. I've tried it and it works as it should (it's really up to your camera, not the Genie), but my camera at the moment has a very good dynamic range. I think I would invest in a gradual ND to save time in post.

*I really love your videos and appreciate your works!* One question I have is, what is your opinion on using drones to take time-lapse videos? I see the usefulness of sliders and the slingshot you mentioned in the video, but wouldn't drones have even greater fields of view? Thanks!

Hey Morten! Amazing work you got here! Very motivating and your work got me back on timelapses. I was wondering, you said, that mostley you shoot in apature prioriti mode, but in day to night lapses it gives lots of flickering. How do you avoid that? Its not possible to remove it all on LR Timelapse. Its eazy to shoot in manual mode and uncontact the lense if light is constant. I'm struglening witht that at the moment.

is there any easy and cheap sliders you would recommend?

How do you have the battery life to shoot a 7 hour time-lapse?
@davidsteen17838 жыл бұрын
Oanon I think he has several batteries that he can switch between, but I don't know
@DanielAx8 жыл бұрын
If he uses the grip on the camera he might be fine. Or he uses external battery power.

Hey quick question! Do you ever do any grading in premiere pro and/or after effects, or is it all done with lightroom + LR-timelapse?
@morten.rustad8 жыл бұрын
I do pretty much everything in Lightroom, maybe some minor changes in Premiere og DaVinci Resolve.

I keep hearing several professional timelapsers saying that they export to JPG after finish working with a sequence in LR and LRTimelapse and I don't understand why. Sure, file sizes will be way smaller but you're limited what further post production work you can do to the clip without starting to run into banding issues etc because jpgs have an 8 bit colour depth. Do you still export to jpg or have you started using tiffs? Maybe I'll ask this in your next Q&A session. Looking forward to it :)

Stop, do you mean if you are shoting in apperture priority on Sony you're not deflickering it in post(Lrtimelaspe etc.)? (Maybe I should watch this video to the end and find the answer later 😂)
