The massive torque those big, low-revving diesels and steam engines made was incredible. For example, the 450 HP Fairbanks would be turning out about 7,900 lb-ft of torque.

The Car with the Number "23"(7:00 an 7:15) is not a Bentley-Packard. Its called "Brutus" and was build by the Technik Museum Sinsheim, Germany. Motor: 12-cylinder BMW aircraft engine.

My father-in-law worked at a nat gas pump station, they had 4 pumps with attached engines each engine had 2 pistons with 4 firing chambers they fired on both sides of the piston, maybe they turned 100 rpm at full throttle. The flywheel weighed over 2,000 pounds

11:55 - 12:15 The company was W. H. Allen (William Henry) not Arthur. I served my apprenticeship with the company and worked there in the 1980s. The S37 in the video originally worked in Welches Dam pumping station.

I don't believe the RR Griffon was ever used in tanks or ships. The Merlin was used in tanks, under the name Meteor.

How 🤔 is possible that many of these engines as far as I know didn't have pressurized lubrication and even so they lasted for decades 😳

I think that many Merlins got repurposed as Meteors. Some were salvaged from wrecked planes!

The 150HP Case steam traction engine the HP isn't spoken as a suffix. It's an abbreviation for horse power. Fairbanks Morse was building engines in the 1890s long before 1940s

As cool as this is, what is the purpose of this hobby? Is it trying to get the motor running? And once it does run, what do you do with it? Or once you shut it down, is it once again hard to start it again? (so it's more like an ''I concered this'' thing) --> (serious question)

@techonly01 There are several parts with music in the video. In some parts, the music can be heard over the sound of the engines.
