Baby William is so precious! I follow many of the same routines as you. Another one I do is after everyone is in bed I walk thru my home making sure everything is done, put away, nothing in the sink, throw pillows and blankets neat on the chairs and sofas... there's nothing nicer than waking up in a clean and tidy home. I also get up and head outside to enjoy my coffee, thank God and start another blessed day! ❤

I am starting to learn the key to having homemade meals all the time when you have a busy schedule is batch cooking. I think this is probably one trick I see you using. I need to make bread so I go head a make 2 loaves and now I don't have to worry about it tomorrow. I cook a great meal and I make double and freeze it for later. I premake things the weekend before to save time during the week. I put chicken away in the freezer already in a marinade to save time. Homemade food doesn't have to take all day. Also, when I'm really in a pinch for time my crock pot is my friend, set it and forget it.

Love this video. It takes me right back. It's great to be organized, but not to expect to be perfect. Little habits & routines bring stability & confidence both for our children & for us as parents. I always tried my best & tried to remember the good parent is the parent who is good enough. Just this weekend my daughter told me how proud she was of me & my son made dinner because he wanted to. I felt very loved. It was so much reward for just wanting to be good enough. ♥️

I raised four boys and one with a disability. I used to think two were easy, but actually four was. I found routine is the best way. Things did get crazy at times but I embraced every moment of mother hood, from nursing, cloth diapers on the clothesline to playing together outside, and counting the stars as they popped out. I miss those days so much! Envy you having littles around. Steph, is that the Isla dress you have on? Looks beautiful as always on you. Thank you for inspiring us. Blessings to your gorgeous family!

Love this!! What an encouraging video with great tips. A few things we practice here are to give everything a place and teach everyone to put things in their place - especially good for large families ☺️ I also have taught the children through the years to “look behind them” before they walk away - just to see what they are leaving behind and if maybe it shouldn’t be left like that. 😉 And I taught them also to remember the “next person” and to bless them through their actions - did you use all the milk? Go get another one from the basement fridge and replace it so whoever reaches for milk next will find it there. Big families do need to work together - it makes things better! ☺️ ❤️

I am 17 years into my homemaking journey. Our twins are now old enough to drive! I have worked part time here and there, but left last job in 2020 when we decided to homeschool. I was just having a talk with one of our kiddos about how we are a team and we all work together to do our part. My biggest issue is the lack of storage. It can make the clutter pop up so quickly if not tended to. I started dividing tasks and tackling everything by corners. Sometimes, I look around and the whole house is tidy just by addressing it corner by corner or list by list. 😊 You're so right about the distractions. The reminder is definitely something I needed to hear again. It's so easy to grab and get pulled in. Thank you! Maybe I need to make a written schedule for my own screentime! 😂 Absolutely must have a hand written list for all the things!

Delegating as a Mom was my biggest struggle as well . I’m a perfectionist so that was some of it. I think it’s easier for some personalities as my husband oldest son and one daughter have no trouble with this , they seem to have the gift of administering. One thing that helped us I can’t stand clutter so I was forced to get my kids to help because I could not do it all . Im a grandma now and empty nester and I’m happy to say our children are capable of taking care of themselves and my daughters are excellent homemakers , by the grace of God is all I can say !

If I can accomplish these 3 tasks every day I feel like my home is totally manageable and it really helps the entire flow of our day and our overall week. 😊 1. Empty dishwasher in morning. 2. Do 1 complete load of laundry - wash, dry, fold/put away (Any load of laundry - towels, regular clothes, bedding, anything!) Mentally, I don’t hate doing laundry if I know I’m just going to be folding and putting away a single load. I hate laundry if I know I need to catch up and do 3-4 loads. 3. Load and run dishwasher at night

hello mother, what you say is true. I always apply what you say because my mother always told me to do that. and the good thing is that when I grow up, at the age of 19 I am starting to be independent and disciplined. so I wasn't surprised when I lived alone. despite the fact that in my country more boys are pampered than girls. Most boys in my country can rarely live independently. My younger siblings are late learning to be independent, they are very stubborn when I remind them to clean their own rooms when they wake up. washing the dishes they used to eat, but they still stubbornly don't want to do that small job

There is a woman on here with a fairly large following who gets the question all the time of how in the world does she do so much? She homeschooled, she's got a homestead with all kinds of foods and animals, she cooks and bakes, she cleans, she makes her own cleaning and hygiene products, she preserves food, and she does a LOT of other things as well (classes, things with family, day trips, etc). Well, her response to this question of "how do you do so much" one day was, in a shrill voice, "I get up earlier!!" Then she laughed like it was the most obvious answer to the dumbest question. It rubbed me the wrong way. It was arrogant and condescending, but more than that it was disingenuous. We all get 24 hours in a day. Many of us are up before the sun and don't get to bed until it's very late. What she should've said is that she's very good at being efficient and has good time management skills. I appreciate people who acknowledge the reality of this. I appreciate people who try to help and teach, rather than belittle or use "tough love." Tough love has a place, yes, but I do not believe something this important should be taught by tough love.

Two things I really struggle with and have a hard time actually not getting very angry is my adult children and my husband will walk by the sink to put a cup or dirty bowl on my bar. Plus leaving wet wash clothes in the bathtub that’s a big no no in my book. My mother taught us well we didn’t have that nice of a house but she believed in keeping it clean and we would have never done those two things. And honestly my mom and dad were so good to us. I know they got those habits from my husband side and also putting empty milk containers back in fridge does anyone else have these problems?
