Hard & dangerous days at the Mill. Loving the Classics. All the old gang together. ❤

I live in a former mill town in South Carolina. The mill was built in the 1880s, it employed over 5000 people, and dominated every aspect of people's lives. Springs Mill provided many amenities, but the working and living conditions were brutal.

In my opinion the original gang will never be matched, their combined knowledge and humor made this program the best archeological program ever... later attempts with new team members didnt come close...

My hometown, Oldham, near Manchester, used to be called the cotton capital of the world, there were more spindles in the town than there were in some countries, then the American civil war happened and we weren't getting the cotton sent here as it was needed for uniforms over there. Resulted in very hard times and mass unemployment for the town

Good to see the Team together. But it would be nice if the goal of their work is something more than “what was this old thing like?” Some sort of puzzle or question that the curious want to answer would be an intriguing program. You do this often, just not here.

Slaves were treated bettrer than factoryworkers. Slaves were property and represented a monetary worth, factoryworkers represented a economic cost.

Maybe you should try a couple of years as a slave in Sudan, for example, and see how you like that, before you come up with statements like that. You have absolutely no idea.

Depends on how you define slavery, many of the economic principles are the same, Especially child workhouses.

What a load of shit. Tell me why didn't "factory workers" just submit to slavery if it was better? Endorsing slavery, you should be ashamed of yourself

I just love Time Team but unfortunately i have to say that this cut together episodes didn't turn out very well they are usually 48 minutes long but this one is 42 minutes these 6 minutes that are missing do a lot to get three good short episodes. (Sorry)💞🌸💞
