You all do realize that is somebody’s private property right? It’s one thing to video an in progress job, another thing to come back to take video after the fact. It’s like your landscaper bringing potential clients to your new backyard he did for you without permission (which I had happen).

I got a quote for about 37k on a pond dig on my property. Ended up finding an excavator on an auction site for 31.5k and since bought a dump truck and small dozer for an additional 20k. I went this route because after I'm done, I can resell the equipment and basically build my pond for very cheap, if not free. However, I now fully understand the amount of work it takes to do something like this. I'm probably a good 20 hours into the job and have only cleared the small trees and undergrowth off of the pond site. It also makes me appreciate the variety of equipment I've seen you use in other videos. Each machine does a unique specific task that it excels at, and although another machine might work, it takes a lot longer. And the last thing I appreciate is the crew doing the job. Doing this myself, I've found that operating all the equipment one at a time is not very time efficient. But I guess it's to be expected, the money I save will go to a bigger pole barn than I could have bought if I just spent the money.

I was wondering how you'd handle expanding a pond like that. There is no good way to go about it I guess, get what dry dirt out you can, then the rest is inevitably going to be a mushy, muddy mess. Not much you can do about it.

I think I would have left a dam the width of the digger and dug out the dry clay as far as needed to complete the pond and go back onto the dam and gradually dig it out . 350 could reach it from both sides by the looks of it 🤔🤗

Love these videos. My grandfather was an excavator in the 40's and 50's and built many roads in the Northeast as the US expanded . I was fortunate enough to be his student. I've lived equal parts in the Northeast, Midwest and the South. What fascinates me, amongst many things, are the various linguistics for the same description of events. In this case, some times just articulated as "mud" and other times "MUDDDaaaHHHa"!. Forest Gump like. The pronuciations of vowels is also extraordinary with many octaves. You've got to love this "melting pot" of a country we live in. This dude is highly talented. Keep up the great worik and thank you!
