Sliding Rock looks fabulous. I foresee a food truck, ahem, visiting the spot in the future. Your patience and sense of humor made the project entertaining, Ben!

Thank goodness for late summer and pre-fall rains - before the real rains of fall and snow of winter.

Aaaand, it's done! Not a fun chore, but so great that you can get it done and move on. Give yourself lots of credit for effort and willpower. The water slide looked so refreshing. Blessings on all of you!

Oh boy! Well doing and undoing gives you plenty to do! Better that you fix it now then during the winter! Now make sure you seal it properly! At least you guys squeezed in some fun too! 🤗💗🤗

I love sliding rock! Such a fun place on a hot day! Tip on the metal roof…dot silicone at each location you put a screw..my contractor says where your screwed in is the most likely place to have future leaks

Bud the screws should go through the high ridges and not down on the flat areas, where the bulk of the water runs. You can buy special roofing screws with rubber below the heads that are meant to add extra weather proofing.

My metal building insulation guide said to place them on the flats. As long as they are properly fastened it doesn't matter. As long as the screw isnt at a angle, or the rubber washer isnt smashed.

Was looking at the seam where the new roof buts up to the existing and wondering how to seal that better.

Me too. A flashing is missing I think.

Yes, I believe your main source of the leak is from where the two roofs meet. I noticed when you took the metal panels off, the plywood was mostly all wet and that amount of water would have to come off the existing roof and be getting under the addition roof metal…

Did you use the metal roofing screws with the little rubber or silicone "washer" that goes between screw head and metal roofing? These are advised to help self seal the roofing screw holes. - If you silicone caulked each screw head in then you should be OK. A pain when you remove the roof panels though. Also, many silicone caulk along the seams or lay a bead of silicone caulk on the under sheet of metal then layer the top piece before screwing down. You want tomwipe ant silicone caulk that seeps out because it will collect dust, leaves and evergreen needles; also possibly form a ridge which will affect water, ice, and snow flow off the roof.

Yes, we used the roofing screws 😊 thanks for your concern

what a mess; I didn't realize metal roofing would let so much water through. Get a 5 gallon bucket of asphalt emulsion to paint the plywood with before putting the underlayment down. When I replaced shed portion of roof on back part of house I sealed all the joints in the plywood with a tube of (tar) roof cement, then painted the whole thing with asphalt emulsion, then the 30 pound felt, then the roll roofing.
