The On Guard Cigar Salon team believes in the importance of a big win for Democrats in the November 2022 election. The situation is dire and we all need to rally with our energy and votes to save our democracy.
Here are some ways you can help.
Most importantly, VOTE!
Please do four important things.
1. If you aren't registered to vote, you can go to Vote.org and register.
2. If you are already registered, make sure to check that your voter registration is still active and accurate. There have been instances when voters have been purged and the voters never know about it.
3. Request an absentee (vote by mail) ballot and encourage others to do the same to make sure your vote is counted and to avoid possible long lines at polling locations.
4. Share the vote.org link with your friends and family and encourage them to register and commit to vote for Democrats in November.
Politics is local!
It's important to vote in every election and for all local, state, and national candidates. So much of what impacts our lives day-to-day is because of local politics. National politics is important, but find out who will be best represent you locally and vote for them too.
Donate to Democratic candidates.
We know times are tough financially for some people, but if you have the economic means to donate to Democratic campaigns, please do so. Pick a favorite Democrat and donate to their campaign. Or, if you want to make one donation and know it's going to key races, you can donate through Swing Left at swingleft.org. Swing Left makes it easy to donate to the most competitive races, up and down the ballot. They crunch the numbers for you so you can donate to the closest races that will help Democrats build power.
You can donate to the candidates mentioned in the video at the links below.

Help get out the vote.
Get involved with When We All Vote, WhenWeAllVote.org, a leading national, nonpartisan initiative, started by Michelle Obama, on a mission to change the culture around voting and to increase participation in each and every election by helping to close the race and age gap.
If you can volunteer to knock on doors or make calls to get out the vote, that's incredibly helpful. The Democratic National Committee, democrats.org/..., has ways you can get involved. You can also get out the vote from home by writing letters for Vote Forward, VoteFwd.org, or postcards for Postcards To Voters, postcardstovot....
Help save our democracy.
Many organizations are working hard to save our democracy from a minority of fascist-leaning forces trying to rule over the majority. One organization doing a great job is Indivisible, indivisible.org/. Brought together by a practical guide to resist the Trump agenda, Indivisible is a movement of thousands of group leaders and more than a million members taking regular, iterative, and increasingly complex actions to resist the GOP's agenda, elect local champions, and fight for progressive policies.
Share your passion for voting on social media.
Use all of your social media platforms to share information about voting and why it's so important. Engage with your social media friends and followers. Don't get angry with those who disagree with you. Calm, civil discussion produces better results. It's also proven that if someone with an opposing political view feels that you're truly listening to their perspective, you'll have a better chance to sway their opinion to your side.
Let's save our democracy together!

I'm still not convinced there are more of us than them. But we defiantly have more to lose then they do.

If conservatives were not terrified of anyone outside of old republican white people voting then why are they doing literally everything possible to make it hard for people outside their very select party to vote? The redlining, false election claims, gerrymandering, passing restrictive voter laws...thats a fear reaction not one of power. Decades of voter repression on their behalf has convinced many many people that their vote does not matter. It does.

That’s why our Founders created the electoral college. They saw this coming and understood the need for fair representation. Brilliant men. As for local elections, the key is for more average people to get involved and run in their respective towns, cities.

@@jjones9822 the EC the Founders created and what we have today are not the same. Had we still been using it how they designed it. Trump would now be King. As the Legislatures could selected anyone to be an Elector and they could vote however They wanted to.
