Upholstery is tricky. It was once considered a King's art, much like paintings and sculpture. 20+ yrs experience. Not criticism. Tips. When you covered the trip with the fiber padding, knock those corners of the board down, so they don't end up tearing the fabric with wear and tear. Second, when you start applying the fabric, pull one side right enough to hold it. On the opposite side, push the board until the fabric is tight,, THEN tack it down. On the corners, pull up and over the corner, first. This will create pleats on each side and that food will be far less noticeable. You did well in cutting the foam larger than the board,, bit it needs to large enough that you can tack down through the foam into board, then you roll the top side down, either even with the side of the board or for a VERY SMOOTH look, to the opposite side of the board. Adding the batting to the top is a great move. Obviously, the upholstery could be better and will with experience, but the look is absolutely fantastic! New sub!!! Love the Christmas tree idea!!!!!! Keto up the good work!!!!!!

Badger Workshop toolstation spray contact adhesive is cheap enough and works well, my daughter (the one that lasered your drinks coaster) and I stripped and reupholstered the four kitchen chairs and a slightly tricker round stool for the workshop this summer (quality time 😀)... you did a great job! The tip we followed was to put a bit of tension on the fabric as you go North - South then East-West in the centre of the base, then to work out from each centre staple again with a bit of tension, so as the foam becomes less springy you've not got flappy bits of fabric....but I too am not an expert 😉
