I feel so bad for Chinese gymnasts. For some reason I feel like the chinese focus more on pushing them and pushing them physically but don't try to encourage mental growth, and I feel that is what sets them back the most. When you watch people like Morgan and Gabby and Simone, they had coaches that really pushed them to focus on their mental health and I believe that is what makes them enjoy the sport and do everything with purpose. I did gymnastics in America and I remember that being a very common motto. Do everything with a purpose. My coaches made me visualize a lot and the coaches I did best with were the ones that would push you gently rather than harshly

Where have all the critical comments about the training methods in China gone? I remember watching this video 2 weeks ago and there were a lot of comments complaining about Yile's training and how exhausted she looks. I'm now rewatching this video and they're nowhere to be found.

It's obvious enough, isn't it? She's a clever girl, she knows that the mere presence of her dad is a rebuke. He was summoned there by her couch to "whip" her in shape. She knows and understandably is unhappy about it.

She was trying not to cry. This KZbin video did not show where her coach abused and yelled at her after he made her lift weights she couldn't. The whole team had been hopping up and down stairs on 1 foot. She was already exhausted. No wonder these girls have so many injuries. If you watch on the Olympic channel, it will show the entire episode, with subtitles.
