Alot of Spielberg movies shaped my world-view & I agree wholeheartedly with his sentiment regarding the Past . Films are like a time capsule or a snap shot of a bygone era. And if film is done well then it contains both light & shade. And you make up your own mind on things. And yes going to the movies is like a Communion of sorts where you let your guard down & realise that there are things that separate us but there are things that make us all the same. Steven Spielberg stands for great cinema. We all love the worlds and atmospheres Steven takes us. In "E.T." is a lot about the light/lights. The first scene in "Jaws" is outstanding and remains in the memory. The following movies he could make: Something like Hitchcock's "Psycho", something like "Braveheart", something like "Aliens".

Much respect and admiration towards this master filmmaker. I’m so happy to hear he liked Indy 5. Plus him talking about not meddling with movies in order to fit with a political agenda is relieving to me. Absolutely loved The Fabelmans. That was his best film in a while. Definitely down to see him tackle a western as his next project! I think he’s going to be executive producing a posthumous project heavily based off of the late Stanley Kubrick’s “Napoleon” next.

Us short film makers are stuck pretty much with the youtube experience. And lucky if they're watched on a desktop. But at the same time, youtube has been a blessing. I know many short film makers want their 16mm films scanned into QuickTime to get them out there. And it doesn't hurt to be able then to touch up some errors.

I think "Jurassic Park" was an updated Frankenstein story. It was a warning. And I think in some ways, "A.I." was the same. I think both movies make you think. What are our responsibilities, if any? What is our purpose? Can we just invent things because we can and/or bring things to life without thinking through what the logical consequences will be? I think AI will help us colonize the solar system, and perhaps the galaxy too, if we don't self-destruct beforehand. However, I'm not sure how it'll be for us, or them, here on Earth. There's a lot of ways it can go wrong. It's kind of important we get it right.

People still should have a choice. Not including the special edition of ET on blu ray is just as bad. Lucas erased the original Star Wars and only offered the special edition. Should have done what Steve did with Close Encounters offered all 3 versions. or what Ridley did with 5 versions of Blade Runner.

The fact that there is no official way to watch the original Star Wars trilogy in high quality (I own the terrible DVD bonus disc made from the laserdiscs that are not even anamorphic - just letterboxed) is a real shame. We should have those versions and the the revised editions.
