your music choices always intrigue me, think that's one of the reasons I like your vids so much :) Also I like how you went around your truck when you stopped, I do the same, always checking for something wrong on the unit aha, but the days that are uneventful are always nice. keep on trucking brother, much love to you, god bless.

@@TimelapseTruckerRTOT Indeed, I treat my truck/equipment as an extension of myself, know every feel and sound down to the T , makes it very easy to diagnose any problems if they occur, which makes the mechanics life alot easier aha. Part of the reason you are successful as you are brother, don't ever change and keep pushing forward through all hardships. Thx for the quick reply, appreciate that.

until i worked here i never had a espar or wabasto, so its a plus for sure but i am used to sleeping with the truck running since i was a baby, frank is a touch loud and a cummins isnt that smooth to sleep to but i deal, plus when its really cold say -15c or colder i dont shut it off, frank really doesn't like cold fuel and lets me know with some valve noise

i remember that place, i was there a few times as a kid i was always amazed at what was going on, all mines i visited were super cool to see first hand. i knew i was seeing what most did not since we would go right into site. the machinery was everywhere. we have a few well sites where if your there during perforating you have to have radios off and leave cell phones, i give a old 2000s mic phone and slide mine into airplane mode so i can still have the camera

thanks for that, i know he'd be proud of me, im a chip off the ol block, i remember so much from a child and pretty much did some of the same moves he did, i cant convince my wife to go further north like he did as the oil field gets stale id love to go back and truck the yukon and alaska. i know the oil field looks cool but it robs you of your life slowly

How do you choice the axle to put chains Jerrold
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT Жыл бұрын
just always done center on a tri drive or front on a tandem. if you watch a tri drive turn the back or front axle drag or skid, scrubbing the tires down faster on those axles. the center axle is the pivot point so better turning where if you chain the other axles it will give you decreased steer traction. its minimal and depending on what im doing i may do the front if working on lease and driving up on mats, the guy that does the back axle only for one set is just being lazy. its easiest on most trucks cause theres no fenders. and with the mud flaps off tons of room

the red and white one? commons misconception, is T800 high hood, its really hard to tell apart from w900, i do get it wrong all the time, really the only difference is how the hood slops and flat glass widows, i think, i dont even know, but gave me and idea for a short vid
@harrisweldon3105
@harrisweldon3105 Жыл бұрын
31:39 They made a t-800 high hood for both cab styles, B model cab and Areocab, they stopped making the high hood in 2007. The w900b looks very similar. T800 trucks have setback steering axles and w900 trucks have set forward steering axles. Tell tale sign is if the truck has 1/4 fenders, and tapered bumper it’s a t800. W900 is One piece hood and fender with straight across front bumper.

Hey. Cool transition on the bridge. What is the longest time wise you've driven on a bush road in one direction? Who decides the roads? Always so many curves. Never straight. Lol
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT Жыл бұрын
ive been out to this mine a few times so i have older footage summer and winter. 100 - 300 kms into the bush one way. theres a lot of stuff off logging roads that take you pretty deep into the bush, sometimes it can take hours to go short distances in the bush

Another great video. But I'm not sure how that 360 camera works!
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT Жыл бұрын
a camera with double lense, one on each side, software in the camera stitches both side together creating an invisible center where the stick that holds it so its invisible. you have to upload it and edit it to look whatever way you want. it does a lot of other things too. really cool camera insta 360 x3, i had the first one and kinda broke it when i caught some wind mounted to the truck with a magnet, both lenses stick out so really prone to damage very easy. theres one better affordable anyways $1500 bucks for the whole set up, this one was $740 with the $130 10 foot stick which allows me to get drone like shots without drone........i have one of those too but its work to use it, saving for a new one of those too

you're a tiny bit of a narcissist (in truth, all drivers suffer a little bit of this). every time you go by the A & J Millar centre you HAVE to snap a picture (LOL). one thing I've always liked about over-the-road hauling are some of the places we get into. what video editor do you use, out of curiosity?
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT

ah my wife would say im a full narcissist, working on that over the years, ive gotten much better, i use final cut pro since it was the cheapest of the bunch with a one time buy of $399, most the others are month to month fees and i started doing these on my iphone 6 in imovie, i needed more control and precise editing so i bought a older used imac and used final cut pro 10, outgrew the 10 year old computer and bought a new imac very expensive......ive had windows based for just normal use up till i started this, love apple stuff but they really fist you on cost
