This doesn't take a trained professional to work out. If the mother's statements are true this young woman was clearly a stalker and posed a serious threat to the young man. She emotionally blackmailed him into getting into the car with her ("if you don't come with me I'll hurt myself"), and when she didn't get what she wanted she murdered him and then took her own life. This is what happens when people do not take stalking seriously, which is very common when the stalker is female. My thoughts are with his loved ones.

She was going too have him one way or the other. He should have not went with her if it was willing or not. He should have let the police handle it. You can't reason with someone that is that disturb His mom said she was very abusive too him ,he let it go and for too long. Something should have been done a long time ago. She had been threatening suicide for awhile holding that over his head. The police should have step in and put her somewhere if she didn't have family.
