I think Elizabeth was just confused on how to cook Hawaiian and decided to go for Asian because she mentioned during the menu discussions that they are similar flavours. So I think she just decided to go for Asian cuisine because that's what she knew how to cook. Stupid mistake but I doubt it was done on purpose.
