Thanks for mentioning Dozier! I actually helped do some construction work there in the late 90s. I was 18 at the time and completely unaware of its history. Yet, that place was unbelievably uncomfortable, eerie, and dark. It felt like despite it being the Florida panhandle there was never enough light. Knowing the stories of the horrors endured there, I can now understand why. On a lighter note, YAY for posters!
@joewilson58142 жыл бұрын
Had just finished a book about Dozier the other week. Very weird coincidence and even weirder school. Book is called “We carry their bones” written by the Anthropologist who did the uncovering of the bodies there. Insane story and a great read.

As a Florida resident I have to say the farther south you go the more ridiculous the heat gets and the humidity makes it that much worse

I live in Jacksonville and was pretty shocked to find out about the Cassanova killer living here. We live very close to the Naval base mentioned, so it has been really cool listening. What Dan is saying about the summer heat here mixed with the humidity is pretty accurate lol

Dammit man, Dan, this week's episode was a chucklefest the whole time until you read that part about your listener's boy wanting to give his uncle, who just died, a pokemon card he picked out for him specifically, and I instantly started balling for the rest of the episode. And, I'm not really sure why that occurrence specifically triggered the waterfalls but hearing that broke my heart for the kid. Anyway, I turned 40 yesterday, so it did seem fitting to be the 40th one posting on this morning's video. I hope that the rest of you Timesuckers out there have yourselves a wonderful Thursday! Take care of yourselves, and each other, help someone in need if you can...and teach the rest of the world the power of LOVE! [The Huey Lewis song slowly fades out]

Love the podcast, been a fan of all you do for almost 16 years now. I don’t know if anyone from the Timesuck team will see this but was wondering if for next weeks Timesuck if you’d be able to answer why Stanley “Tookie” Williams was executed in the mid 2000s in California when there have been numerous serial killers who have not been executed because of California having a stay on all executions since the 70s?

I'm super surprised you've never look into the murders of Gille De Rais back in the 1400's. Lots to look into. Also the conspiracies behind Astroworld are super creepy.
@cateperez96962 жыл бұрын
That would be very interesting. Supposedly there was some controversy over whether De Rais actually did committ the crimes. I would love to see what Dan and the Timesuck team find out.

@@cateperez9696 same reason I'd like him to dive into that topic. He was a general for Joan of Arc, heavily believed in her as a leader and wasted away his families vast amount of wealth, going from the richest man in Europe to a beggar that sold several castles to pay off dept while robbing merchants that traveled through his land.

What do we have to do to get Dan out in the public's eyes more? He talks about what we all think and doesn't turn it into some one sided opinion. I just found johnny guns after years of listening to the Suck Master and for 2008, they're pretty damn good

You should do the wonderland murders John Holmes lotta crazy characters in that one and very interesting kind of like what did Tate La Bianca murders were but because of all of the cover-up and the helter-skelter fairytale to make a DA rich and famous what that was about also drugs and robbery

I think to your point that if we had a system of pure anarchy we would have more serial killers has merit but humanity existed without law in the past .. and we didn't have tons of serial killers, that I know of. I think anarchy would force people to be more worried about survival than murder. Maybe. Also I think people would just take the law into their own hands and everyone would be armed 24/7.

OOh I see I am not the only one... " I feel like Dan sometimes speaks too fast. At times it can feel like he is rushing to get to the end of the episode" "I feel like sometimes he tries to cover TOO much. Like how the how are you going fit a subject like WW2 or Civil War in one single episode? Well.. you gotta speak really really fast then!" "I love Dan’s stand-up, and I love the topics covered by Timesuck, but I don’t enjoy the podcast. Mainly because a) I find it really hacky how he constantly goes way down a rabbit hole and then says ‘just kidding of course that didn’t happen’. It was funny the first time or two. After that, I’m rolling my eyes and I’m irritated. And b) I don’t know if he just drinks a lot of caffeine or what, but his energy level is at an 11 for 2 hours straight, just wayyy too hyper for me."

@@agostinodublino1387 You went out of your way to find comments that agree with you, off of other videos to make your point right. Who does that? Plenty of people love his work. Clearly, it is not for you. Nothing is for everyone and that's ok. It's ok that you don't like it, but we do. Instead of being negative and shitting on something other people like, and taking tremendous effort to do so, my point was find something you do like and leave us to ours. Your negative shitting on something a ton of others like with so much effort is really bizarre. When I see something I don't like, do you know what I do? Nothing. I stop watching it. Yeah, I'm SUPER childish.
