Loved, loved, loved this episode!!! I am a big Mickey fan/DISNEY fan and thought I knew some about Walt Disney. It was great to learn about his start and all the KC references. This is definitely my favorite episode! Thank you!!!

As a Disney historian, and someone who worked for WDW for awhile, I really enjoyed this. Albeit some of the info differs from person to person, it was really factual. My knowledge of Disney later got my wife hooked on Disney history. Her love of your podcasts, especially Scared to Death, would later go on to make me become a big fan of YOU. Having met you twice at Zanies in Nashville, you are my favorite comedian and podcaster. So I guess this podcast is the mesh of our two loves.

I listened to this and Is We Dumb today while walking around Epcot during their flower and garden / food and wine festivle. Drinking, eating and laughing my ass off as you help make the heat bearable. I have always wanted to join Club 33 until today. Now I want to rise to the top and control it from the inside hahaha. JK. JK. No seriously, you made my day amazing and magical. My wife and kids fight when we are at the parks and you reminded me its memorys we are making. Loud, angry, expensive, sad, happy magical memories. Lol. Thank you and keep on sucking.

Hail Nimrod! This is the funniest one so far!! Just a note-I saw a special about Disney & apparently super special people like Tom Cruise & cancer patient kids can stay overnight in the magic castle.

I find it both funny and oddly concerning how Dan can flip between his characters.

My husband and I were at Disney World in 2009 and watched EMTs pushing a person out on a stretcher from Future land with an EMT on top of the person doing CPR. There were 2 AEDs on the stretcher with the patient and still they were doing CPR. My husband looked at me and said, "that person is dead, but not until they get outside the Disney gates."

OMG, your obsession with Evil Roy Disney is hilarious! 🤣 Also, I’m appropriating “Rev. COVID” to refer to Micropeen from now on. Good call, fellow meatsack. 😜

The man was a visionary and a hard worker but he does seem like a prick of a boss. Especially reporting his own employees to the feds. Also when a powerful person gets "cremated" I have just a smidge of skepticism.

There was a LOT of carrying water for the subject, which you don't normally do. Every bad thing he did was excused and dismissed. Mickey Mouse? No. Ricky Rat. He intentionally ruined the careers of many people out of spite and jealousy. He abused his power to routinely betray and destroy people. Making movies you like doesn't make him a good person.

Loved the video but I’m Confused how he can research this much and not figure out Goofy is a cow not a dog lol
@SMPTEflorida4 жыл бұрын
From Wiki: "Goofy is a funny animal cartoon character created in 1932 at Walt Disney Productions. Goofy is a tall, anthropomorphic dog who typically wears a turtle neck and vest, with pants, shoes, white gloves, and a tall hat originally designed as a rumpled fedora. Goofy is a close friend of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck."

So you're going to tell about ol' Walt losing the battle with his animators so that he had to actually pay them a living wage, then talk about how he used his position as an informant to the FBI to sell out some of those people as communists. Then later on in the episode you'll ask whether he made the "red scare" worse, you just plowed on forth with the typical, oversimplified, boot-licking "capitalism good" bullshit. Nevermind that he habitually fought against the welfare of his employees, he himself became rich, so it's all good, right? And then there's the fact that his wife was one of his first employees, and yet he continued to treat women unfairly, which you excused as just a product of his time. So he'll exploit a woman for her creative talents, then marry her to avoid paying her, then go on to run his company with a policy that women aren't to be trusted. So he'll break social norms for a talented woman who will make him money, which in your eyes is fine, but he'll also exclude an entire gender because of his own personal bullshit, and in your eyes that's also cool because it's the '40s and it could have been worse. Supercool cognitive dissonance there Dan, I feel sorry for your employees.
