I bought my 1st Easy Reader in 1987 in a gift-shop at Yellowstone park and still have it. I relish it next to my Vostok Kommandirski bought the same year. Products of an era.

Was on the fence between this Anniversary model and the Signature Edition. I went with the Signature, as it had a date window and polished numerals. Still it's a good looking Timex and I may add one of these to my collection later.

Can you put nato straps on this watch? I like the strap but might want to preserve them and i like the versatility of nato straps

I love my Easy Reader. It was cheap and lives up to its name. I call it a well designed generic watch. The only time I need set the time is at the DST changes. I notice the 40th Anniversary Edition dropped the date function and I wish mine did too as I never use it and I don't know how to set it.

Did your version of the 40th anniversary addition have the Horween leather band? I purchased from the Timex website because of that feature.

It might be worth checking to see if it is the high quality Horween vs. their regular band, so that readers will know if Timex is charging more than Amazon for the same product, or if the Horween band (usually found only on expensive watches) is exclusive to those anniversary watches purchased on the Timex website.

I've had 2 Timex watches that the indiglo failed in less than a year. So much for my buying Timex!

snoebay88 It May be your battery. As a lifelong wearer of indiglo Timex, I have found that when the battery gets low, it doesn’t have enough juice to light up he watch, only power the movement. While it may be possible, I have never witnessed indiglo fail outright. Cheers.

Watches used to be small. There was a time when 40mm was considered a huge watch. Vintage photos show large men wearing 36, 35, and even 32mm watches. Wear what you like, always.

Trouble is,,,, the base material, is it brass ? as in the rest of the world nothing good is made from brass only cheap products are made of brass, a silvered plastic that Casio do well is more sellable than any Timex as proven ,,
