So funny you said that. I have been working from home for 18 months now due to covid I started watching these watch videos on KZbin and caught the collecting disease. At first I didn't know what I wanted, I'm not doing it as an investment, just for fun. I wound up owning 1 watch to now owning 40 Timex watches (in less than a year). lol. I just love these watches and the new reissues they are putting out are awesome. Obviously I understand a luxury watch is at a entirely different level of collecting, but I'm having fun looking at my Timex watches and like another poster said, something about seeing that name on the watch. If you are not a horology buff but enjoy Americana Timex is a logical choice. I invest in stocks, so I don't need to worry about them being nothing more than fun toys for me.

I got some Timex watches, and I keep them away in closed box at night because they tick so loud that I can't sleep! Can't you make them quiet?
@TimexUSA6 жыл бұрын
We’re sorry to hear the watch didn’t fully meet your expectations due to its loud ticking. We feel bad that you had to put it in a box while sleeping just to not distract you. The ticking on the watch depends on several factors like the size and the materials used in making the watch and its movement. We understand that it can be loud especially when in a closed room. Our Quality control team have been made aware of this issue for some of our watches that has a loud ticking sound. They are currently in the process of finding a solution to lower or tone down the ticking sound of the watch without affecting the movement.

@@TimexUSA People not being willing to pay higher prices at the cost of making things in the US, is exactly why timex cant mostly, while being competitive. If timex made a watch for around $300, or $450 with an auto with a diamond or sapphire crystal, made fully in the US i think it would sell out. The quality is up there these days. There are companies that sell watches with sapphire crystals, assembled (with foreign parts), in the US for around $200. If anyone had the power to bring production and jobs back to the US, timex would be one of them. You cannot get the same quality from anything like 20-30-40 years ago. The same happened to every big companies. They drew people attention with quality first, then they found themselves in a rat race, in a competition of cost reduction and profit margin... This led all big quality companies to outsource their production to cheap countries, mostly in China, then to Malaysia, Philippines, but also to South America etc.. This happened to the cheaper Casio, Seiko products as well, but with cloth companies and most of other industries as well. That is why my clothes bought in the 90's are like brand new still today, while the ones I buy from the same brand today last for few months or up to a year or two.. The same with watches from the 70's, 80's, 90's or earlier, and other stuffs as well. To be honest kinda frustrating that what was natural 20-30-40 years ago, now counts as luxury.
