I think the Timex is better than most Casios. Better display, Indiglo, easy to press buttons, auto timer, great quality strap. Love it!

I’ve had this n my Amazon cart for ages. I’m so sorry I haven’t bought it when it was 35€… it stayed at that price for Five long days and it was just my devotion for Casio which prevented me from buying it. Dang. Now it’s at 50€. Thanks for this video! Awesome watch!

Thanks for the great review. I remember owning an Ironman as a kid. I think Timex is to Casio what Citizen is to Seiko. Timex and Citizen both make terrific watches but get overshadowed by Seiko and Casio. Thanks again!

Thanks for this. I put my Ironman on when I was 15, and envious of the older guys on swim team. I am 53 now and the Ironman has been with me since then. I strayed of course, but the reality is the Ironman in my watch.

Thanks for sharing your story with the watch. It’s been around for so long, it’s lost in the long shadow of Casios. For the money, it might be the best almost G-Shock-like watch. Have a great week.

@@Realidealgear Here is the thing, it is a better watch for about 99 percent of the world. I have mistakenly pointed this out on watch forums, only to gete killed. No human actually needs a barometer or altimeter unless they are climbing a mountain above whatever feet. The buttons on a huge swath of the g shocks are simply unusable. The ironman can do everything normal people might want. You can see the date and time legibly. You can set an alarm. You can use a timer. And if you are swimming or running laps, you can do splits. The buttons and interface are simply better.

Hey, you delivered! You bought it and reviewed it. Note that these come in so many different models and sizes. I have one that you can actually change which modes show up when you scroll through them. So if you dont' want 3 alarms to show up, you can make only 1 appear. Very comfortable with great legibility. I think the inidiglo on this style with the negative works best when it's on wrist at the right angle. Sometimes it disappears.

I took mine to a Batteries Plus to get the battery replaced and they absolutely destroyed it. They tried to pry it apart at the middle where it doesn't open, then the beep doesn't work even turning it on in settings because they didn't reseat the steel back right. I take it back and they said they couldn't fix the beep but then the beep worked. Later I threw it in a bowl of water to let it soak after a workout as I had done for years but water got in and messed up the backlight. I finally took it apart myself and those monkeys had damaged the gasket so it wasn't waterproof anymore. It was a color way that's also been discontinued by Timex, so I can't even replace it. Very sad to say goodbye to an old friend. Real workhorse and there's very little by Casio/Gshock near this price point that offers a modest size, large screen, easy to reach buttons, multiple time zones, calendar reminders, 3 alarms and a tremendous backlight.

How do you train fore an ironman with this watch. Do you use splits or? It has no GPS or Puls so?
@Realidealgear5 ай бұрын
Ultimately, it’s about reducing times in the three stages. Splits, total duration of training. Pulse monitors can help but even then I don’t find them helpful when time is the biggest hurdle. A boood oxygen encore would be better as you could anticipate anaerobic levels regardless of pulse. As I trained my pulse would decrease which meant I had to inject sprints during my training. That increased cardio much like acclimatization for mountain climbers. Push your cardio into anaerobic levels and you could increase red blood cell production. I also ran logging trails at higher elevations. I planned my routes before hand, didn’t need GPS unless I went off route, didn’t do that. The cost of GPS on a watch was unnecessary as I used Google map on my computer for distances. Distance training involved a surprising amount of short runs at high rates combined with gradual increase of longer runs. Stretching was a huge part of the training routine. NO caffeine, ever.

I’m not sure why you’re saying the light is t sufficient. I find it excellent. I have the shock version, maybe that one is different? On a side note, I found my old Ironman Icontrol I bought about 25 years ago in high school. It looks like this but with a crown instead of buttons. Can’t wait until the battery and band gets here to bring it back to life.

You seem to be one heck of an athlete bro! I have seen these and handled one in the past but I am ashamed to say that I have never owned a Timex of any sort. As far as sporting credentials go there are few that can hold a candle against the Ironman! You are right, the legibility is outstanding! I wish they where more available here but they are rather rare. The backlight is also more tactical than the usual full illuminated G-Shocks. Hope you have a great week Tim! Yes, the Ironman is a sleeper sports watch. I've hung up my Triathlon shoes....dude, the shirt (in this video) from my last triathlon was stretched pretty tight! Thank you for the verse. I'm now in Galatians (Ch4, 5). Reminder of God bringing freedom through Isaac born into freedom v Ishmael born into perpetual slavery. God chooses what He chooses and miracles never involve man's work or inputs...we are involved but have no inputs. Take care brother.

@@Realidealgear It certainly is! I had friends who did triathlons and they were very fit... On land and in water. I was just fit on land so adding two more disciplines is nuts .😅God has His ways and His plans and they are far beyond us. I do think He works through us from time to time according to His will. The Holy Spirit puts desires in our hearts sometimes for reasons we dont know to achieve things that might not be apparent to us at the time but works to the glory of God.
