I ruminate on the way a cashier looked at me. How some work collegaue may or may not have replied when i said hello. Why a friend i was close to 35 years ago was uncomfortable about something I said one time back then. Then ruminate on why im ruminating over it so much. Its very tiring I agree!

I’m 62 & also experienced years of childhood abuse. In recent years I have found some relief from this by practicing Buddhist teachings & learning mindfulness. It has literally saved my life. Have you tried meditation? I now practice meditation for 25 minutes every day & this has helped my mind & symptoms of CPTSD in a profound sense 😊💜🙏

@@howard1beale What does that entail?
@howard1bealeАй бұрын
@MrAllstar it entails finding a qualified therapist who has done emdr training. The sessions involve you having an image or a memory that you look at in your imagination while watching the therapist's pen moving laterally ( sideways) and up and down. I can't explain how it works or why it works, but it does. It's been around since around 1990. There's a book called Getting Past Your Past by Francine Shapiro, who discovered it. What I liked about it was that you just have a few sessions.its not long-term, endless navel gazing. In fact, you don't need to talk at all. You tell the therapist the memory or the intrusive thought and after each session that particular memory or unwanted thought just kind of evaporates. So you can still remember it but it's no longer controlling you

Putting other people's problems first is what I just found out in the dream that I woke up with today; some unknown person told me about a song that he couldn't remember the authors so, after he sang to me a little it resonated and I started to search on the Internet but everything I was finding it was in chinese. I can't understand chinese! I was in my dreams in a loop hole about something it wasn't even my problem 😮. Frustration woke me up and I was thinking how stupid that was I was losing my rest with that. 😢

Most thoughts that seem to torture me come from "the enemy" and- if I notice- I thank God for his mercy and I am glad, that he forgave my sins. If I don't notice on time, they can ruin my day, because it turns into a vicious circle. Make it a habit to thank God for His way to help us. The devil is a cunning creature and all he wants is to torture our souls and pull us away from God. Hold on to the Lord Jesus Christ and find peace in Him.

If you can pay a therapist try a trauma informed therapist. For some people meditation helps but not for everyone and the same with mindfulness, EMDR, somatic therapist, etc. We all are different. I think that usually you need a battery of tools to heal or manage symptons. Usually, a holistic approach is needed. Don't get discourage if something doesn't work for you. Sometimes, like in meditation, you need time to get better at it but sometimes you just can't. It was hard for me when I was in fight and fligh. Later on I could do it better but no matter what you do be patient with yourself because nothing works right away.

Its really sad that some people think they have to live "perfect" for God to still love them. This is the whole purpose of what Jesus did on the cross. He died for our sins, sickness and shortcomings. So when we receive him and get saved, we cant come out of salvation again, unless we want to. We are not under law anymore, but under grace. But we have to receive Jesus.

Very misleading the reductionistic approach stemming from the belief the self is an epiphenomena of biology. What a pity. An example of the opposite point of view: there is a purpose in that voice. Like punishing ourselves, because of guilt. All after all, coping mechanisms, adaptive strategies.
