Timi is one of those singers that I didn’t discover until recently. She is so good I can’t understand why the radio did not play her more. Just wonderful.

Yuro was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 4, 1941, into an Italian-American family whose original name may have been Aurro. By the time of her birth, however, the family used the spelling Yuro.

@@Dabridge4009 Yeah rosetta tharpe she wasn’t rock n roll or r&b she was a Gospel singer but she was one of the first popular acts to use the electric guitar as the main part of her music in the 1930s when it was just invented and in the 1950s rock n roll and R&B singers talked about how they were inspired by her including James Brown Little Richard Elvis Presley Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry

@@Dabridge4009 They have completely different music styles She was gospel Chuck was R&B and Rock n Roll but her guitar work on her records is was what Chuck Berry was directly inspired by. If you look on KZbin a video called Sister Rosetta Tharpe Guitar Solos it’s about 6 mins long that would be the best example of why she became known as the godmother of rock n roll and you have to remember she is doing this in the 1930s the same decade that the electric guitar was invented
