Ultimately a Garbage design... are you really surprised? Most properly made tensioners have a built in ratchet/ step mechanism that prevents the tensioner plunger from returning fully into the bore and as the chain wears/ stretches the plunger comes out a bit further but is prevented from going back due to the ratchet/ step mechanism.. this was obviously no good for kia/ hyundai. Theyre like wanna be japanese.. getting sales riding on toyotas and hondas amazing engineering wave.
