@@marcryvon, I live inland in Oklahoma, central U.S. and there's not much opportunity for offshore sailing here. Used to keep a small 22-foot boat on a nearby lake. @@stellarpod There are trailerable trimarans. Keeping a boat on the hard will give your boat a long life. Stay away from Neel trimarans. It thrills my heart to see you have such a peaceful sail there. My daddy was shot down over the English Channel, and was the only survivor from his B17. Floated around 3 days in a raft. He could see ships, but the fog kept him from identifying allies from axis, so he couldn’t approach them. He finally washed up on a French beach. A French fisherman got him to the Underground, which got him back to the U.S. armed forces.

Ever think about putting like a boot brush tunnel around the anchor chain
@sailingcallisto37914 жыл бұрын
We were given an anchor chain washer that is similar to a boot brush, but it clips over the chain, then slides down into the water and is held with a small weight, so it scrubs the chain below the water as it comes up. I haven't actually tried it yet, as I still use the method of rapidly pulling the chain up/down by hand a few times (ahead of the windlass) for the last few feet to wash the anchor and chain, which works ok.

Three questions: How will the Covid-19 lockdowns affect your travel plans? Have you used the wood stove? How has it worked out?
@GeneRossano3 жыл бұрын
Back in 1976 or 77 I had a stainless steel stove put in the main salon of my new Challenger 35, Full keel, barn door rudder. We backed it up to the wooden bulkhead to the Salon & toilet/shower that it was mounted on with, at that time, an 1/8" asbestos sheet which worked perfectly to protect the bulkhead. The stove was about 24" high and about 6" square. It took a little experimenting but we got it to function perfectly either under way or at anchor or dockside. To get it going we first put in a little paper, any kind including old napkins or bags, then on top of the paper we put a few dried twigs and depending on how long and how hot we wanted to get it we either put some small broken up driftwood or pea coal and away we went. It could pull the chill out of the cabin in a jiff. my 11 and 7 year old could handle the stove. Great memories of snowy mornings either in April or October or November on Lake Ontario, NY and Canada.

New to the channel and I already love it. Very interesting video from the start to the end. I enjoyed it very much, every secound of it. All the frames and shots well balanced and kept me asking for more. Love the energy, expresions and all the story line. Nice job here. Cant wait for more. Definitely I will look at the previouse once to know you better. Good luck in the foreseeable future. Thx, I felt that as well spent time :) See you next time.

Actually Kika the UK was never a Schengen visa country. It was part of the EU so EU citizens had the right to travel live and work in the UK but that is not the same thing.

Sometimes when you’re running with swells on your beam you can put up your main and trim it just off center line to give you a heel on one side or the other.

Well, you guys have me officially binging your vids. Problem is I'm on the couch and not getting my projects completed. No matter, I'll work harder longer in the night on my projects and still watch. You are much appreciated.
