Mountain Vacation Baguio (Philippine Summer Capital)

We stayed at the beautiful hotel, Manor at Camp John Hay and head out into the cool weather of the Philippine Summer Capital.

Without insulting Hannah it seems there is a change, instead of the happy go lucky girl she has become a much more mature young lady. My wife and I used to rent two bedroom cabins (with fireplace) several times on Camp John Hay back in the mid 1970s to 1990. The 1989 trip up there from Subic was just before the Baguio earthquake. We were in Subic Bay when Mt. Pinatubo erupted and then we moved our U.S. Navy command from Subic to Guam in 1992. Baguio has always been one of my favorite destinations in PI. Back then, when it was managed by the U.S. DoD, we also rented cars during our visits. Our house boys used to also ride along with us off base as our guides. Always had fantastic experiences in Baguio! The big market, strawberries and strawberry jam, the Philippine Military Academy, the summer mansion, the U.S. ambassador to the Philippines home, etc. Loved it all!

Many people go to Baguio but not so many keep going along the Helsema highway to Bontoc and Sagada. It's 140 klms of some of the prettiest scenery on the face of the planet.

I spent a month in Baguio. Absolutely loved it. Gorgeous place, perfect temperature for me, very friendly people and lots to keep me busy. The only thing I had to get used to was the roosters. Dang those noise machines are everywhere lol. But overall I thought Baguio rocked. Mind you of all the food to choose from I lived on Jolly Bee chicken lol.

I spent a few days in Baguio. Such a beautiful place and the cool mountain air. I stayed at a big house, spent Philippine independence day there. Yes it is a long trip. 6+ hours.

My opinion is that the biggest personality growth people have is between like 18-25, so it makes sense that she's changing a lot and adapting to her new life. Definitely more bubbly and outgoing now. Makes the vlogs a lot more interesting.

I mentioned last year that Baguio was my favorite place in the Philippines. I have rheumatoid arthritis and the high heat and humidity is to much for me. My father was stationed at Clark AFB in the early 60's and I remember our trips to Baguio. Much cooler and I've always loved the people over there.

Tim once said Chrissy's dad is a simple person, and he wasn't insulting him. It means focused on the necessities and your local area. Chrissy was raised by her father and had a somewhat similar education probably, so simple too? She is becoming more 'sophisticated' due to keeping up with Tim lol. Something gained, but something lost as well. That 'simple innocence' was refreshing. Tim's a sophisticated guy so it's inevitable. Either way she's a good girl.

My hometown, Camp John Hay used to be an R&R Base for the American military. I was on vacation for six months there in 2019 right before Covid. Got out of the Philippines and came back home to the US right before they started closing the airports. Enjoy your stay there and visit the Baguio Market, the girls will like it.

OMG. You went to Mt. Kalugong!!!! Our family owns that little resort at the top of that freakin damn hill. We stayed there for 3 weeks in the “Poor Mans cabin” right when the COVID-19 fir broke out in March 2020. Hopefully you enjoyed the beautiful scenery up there. We can’t wait to move to Baguio city next summer
