Well thanks a lot Mr. Tim. I blame you for my sewing machine obsession. I am now up to about 20 machines including 3 Featherweights, 2 301s, a 201, a 66, 2 99's, and a treadle with a vibrating shuttle. LOL! I still can't do the free motion embroidery but I do the free motion quilting instead. Thanks for your generosity in sharing your incredible talent and knowledge with all of us.

Do you think a person could free motion quilt with this technique? I have a 1909 White Family Rotary. No darning feet available for them. I don't want to replace the bar but I can easily take the foot off. Any suggestions? Thanks. Love your videos. 💕

TIP:- Stretch an elastic band between the hinge pins. This will keep them in the upright position and help you get the machine onto the pins easily. Just snip the elastic once the machine is in place!

Do you use bobbin thread or just embroidery thread? I'm experimenting right now with serger thread in the bobbin.

Hi Tim, I love watching your great work and patience. I have a question. Can you advice on the thread tension for singer 15? My machine does not properly stitch without a presser foot and I wonder if you can advice on how to fix the problem? Thank you for any advice you can give me.

This is awesome! I love all your videos! I am bummed I don't have a treadle. But will try on my vintage Bernina. What size thread are you using?

Hi Tim, love your videos! You inspired me on getting an old vintage treadle and restoring it. I got it working and the only problem I am getting its with the tread catching in my hoop. I got the fabric on the hoop tight. But the tread does not catch. The machine does makes a beautiful stitch when it has the press or hoop on. I keep practicing but it is not working 100 percent . Do you have any advise for me? I really will appreciate any feedback you can offer. Thank you!

for me the real challenge was getting the tension right......the top tension needs to be really very loose in order to make it work ... I also found that it worked better with lighter weight fabric (actually muslin weight is the easiest for me) I hope that helps
