Sometimes, a vacation is more than just a vacation, or nice meal out is more than just a nice meal out; this was one of those times. While traveling and visiting New York, I decided to make an excursion to Charlestown, Rhode Island and head over to The Nordic Lodge. I've heard they have a lobster, king crab, seafood, and prime rib buffet and there's some significance to this seafood feast. You see, about 2 years ago, my friend Lois and I wanted to visit the Nordic, but decided to postpone it a few months....well, we all know what happened next. Fast forward a year or two later, and I'm now back in New York heading over to seafood buffet to pick up where things left off. And I could not have found a better place than the Nordic to start things off.
As good and plentiful as the seafood and food selections were, it was the people that made it special (both from the servers & hosts as well as the fellow patrons). Feels like family. And with the great food and the great people, I would certainly consider this to be one of the best Seafood Buffet in the US, if not the best!
The $125 buffet at The Nordic was an amazing experience with massive king crab offerings, lobsters done to perfection, and many great cuts of meats and international offerings. Oh, and certainly don't forget the desserts from cakes and confectioners, to a well stocked Haagen Dazs ice cream bar with endless sundaes and milk shakes!
Great atmosphere and welcoming servers and hosts, this clearly was one of the most enjoyable meals I've had. If you're in the area, or are around the New York or the surrounding areas of Rhode Island, this is definitely my highly recommended place to have a memorable (and large) meal.

This is the first time I've come across this channel. Not trying to be impolite.... but I think this Tim Lee is a genuinely nice guy by the way you interact with the staff and the customers! That prime rib looked absolutely gorgeous. I really like your narrative, Tim and your accent is gentle for an American- my ears feel relaxed listening to you, man. I went to the end of the video and found out you're from Canada- whoops! I'm sorry, we can't differentiate between American and Canadian accents over here- but I'm guessing Canadian people in general are nicer than American people? (I mean approachable, I don't know, I'm British). Subscribed. You deserve it. :)

Love the video, love the comments, but I guess I am the only one here surprise at the $125 price tag for a buffet. At that rate, I would have preferred to bring my family of 4 to Wolfgangs steakhouse and really have a great seafood platter to start and dig into an awesome Porterhouse.

The staff seemed genuinely happy to be working there and serving customers. It’s funny how much difference it makes to the overall experience. Take note managers, happy staff add to the atmosphere of any service industry. The staff also seemed comfortable being filmed, I suspect it might be the outgoing nature of most Americans. I’m glad you had a good time Tim. Buffets outside of Vegas are very interesting. 🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴Keep it up!🥂❤️

Thanks again David! I hope you get a chance to go and it's actually quite comparable to the cost of a Texas State Fair ;-). It was a great experience and I think your kids would love the ice cream sundae bar! The clams and oysters are quite interesting, they seem a lot more brinier out east than on the west coast! Very different; and very good. Cafe Sierra and The Nordic is a very close one. I believe Cafe Sierra actually has a greater selection of items (and all of which are good). I think what set this apart was the hospitality there; food was amazing also and while it was hard to show, those lobsters at the Nordic was huge...(not the canner lobsters). Actually, from behind the camera, it was really the good natured and welcoming/attentive hosts and servers that made it special. Anyhow, can go wrong with either place.

WOW!!!! What a beautiful buffet spread. I've seen many buffet videos of Vegas, but this one is absolutely the BEST. I love seafood and for $125 US ($160 Cad), you can't go wrong. Amazing seafood variety, meats, chicken etc,,,, and the desserts!!!! OMG!! Friendly staff that are attentive and very sociable. What a score Tim!!! Another great video Tim.

Very impressive first-class buffet with a very impressive selection of top quality shellfish! Good selection of other dishes & desserts to be enjoyed after filling up on the King Crab & Lobster. Too bad it's located off-the-beaten-track, but if you're driving from NYC to Boston it could be very convenient for dinner & a local AirBnB for the night😄⭐

So glad people have discovered us. The seafood in Rhode Island is as good as anywhere in the world. Thank you for pointing out that the people there put it over the top. In southern Rhode Island the people are still friendly and welcoming unlike say in New York City or most American cities.

I'm dying to go to the Nordic Lodge. My wife and I talk about it from time to time. The problem is, she is only 105 lb and would not be able to eat enough to make it worth her while. But I want to go with her. I think we're just going to go this year anyway. Overall, I think Rhode Island consistently has the best food of any state in which I've traveled. I've lived in Florida. I've lived in the Chicago area. I've lived in Southern California. I've eaten in approximately 25 states, and I'm from Rhode Island and live again in Rhode Island now. Rhode Island has more privately-owned family restaurants than any other state per capita. It also has more bars and nightclubs per capita of any state in America. Rhode Island is such a cool place to go out and get a meal and grab some entertainment. It features more annual festivals than any other state in the country, at over 900. We just had the Newport Folk Festival last week. I think it was two weeks before that that we had the Charlestown Cajun Food Festival that brings in tens of thousands of people to eat seafood. All your points of interest - great restaurants, historic sites, entertainment venues, the finest and most-varied architecture in the Western Hemisphere in the capitol city of Providence, a world-class art museum, and nature preserves - are all condensed into a tiny place where everything is just 30 minutes away and parking is easy. You could be in one of the Impressionists painting rooms at the famed Rhode Island of School of Design Art Museum and be the only one in the room looking at a Van Gogh, then 30 minutes later you could be hiking trails in old-growth forests with ponds, cliffs, streams and rivers. There are probably a thousand restaurants in Rhode Island that serve excellent seafood. But of course, The Nordic Lodge is one of the legendary seafood restaurants of Rhode Island. Come and visit in the summer. Your mind will be blown. Taylor Swift didn't buy her summer home here for nothing. Before the end of this year, mark my words, I will have my feedbag stuffed with Nordic Lodge delicacies.

I still don’t think I could eat $125 worth of food in one sitting to make it worthwhile, especially factoring in I’m married so it would be $250, but I guess it’s something you do for the experience. But the buffet at Caesar’s Palace would be in the same league for about $85 per person.
