Vegas Buffet Update & Great Comfort Food @ PALMS A.Y.C.E Buffet

Thank you so much for joining. I'm not in Vegas... I am back home staying well and making sure others are well; refraining from travel and staying away from crowds. I hope you're keeping well too and hopefully not too isolated with the social distancing, but it's pretty great that we can still connect here.
A few weeks back, we enjoyed a trip to Vegas and I got a chance to visit the buffet at the palms. This is probably one of the best places for comfort food and add an amazing price of about $20. Really happy to see the places in Vegas making sure that people are safe. The MGM buffets have shut down temporarily, and places like the Wynn and the Palms have sensitization stations before going to the buffet. I heard that the buffets are now served to you... Rather than self service.
Anyhow, I hope people exercise good judgment and without further adieu, let's visit The Palms in Vegas...

Time Lee: Wife and I were at the Green Valley Resort last Monday 3/16/19 we were going to stay for 4 nights but were kicked out of gambling Tuesday night and had to pack up and leave on Wed. It was sad to see many that we have known over the last 20 years at their last day working in the casino. We did have a great room and dinner and Hanks was always amazing. Our way of life has changed. Over the next few weeks and months will tell us how the following years will be. Las Vegas has always been a place I've enjoyed since I was a small child, now 71 we still enjoy our video poker, great food, good staff, and fun. I am very sad for the 250,000 workers that are now out of work. I look forward to the day we all get our lives back. Wynn Wynn is very sad.

Hi Wynn Wynn, it's certainly devastating and it's hard to fathom the amount of people without employment. I'm seeing pockets of stories with employers (like the Wynn) are supporting their employees as much as they can... But understand that these business can only do as much as they can... @@TimLeeLetsGo We are in Orange County, Ca. the reason I use Wynn as a name as I have met Steve many years ago and was and still an investor in the Wynn. We used to go to the gym everyday, now walk and work in the garden. Cooking and watching TV. My wife and I are together almost 50 years. We look good and are active. Did a great cruise to Alaska, and Canada over the summer. We had plans for more cruising but that is on hold. We live with the motto: one day at a time. I'm writing this at 12:30 a.m. so the last day was good. I am an internet gamer with my group the Senior Slayers, we play Half Life 2 deathmatch for many years. This too helps. So we will just wait this out like we have other things in life. This Too Will Pass. Wynn

Hi Tim. Love your reviews but on your recommendation I visited the AYCE buffet at the Palms and got to say that food selection was few and the AYCE lobster was limited to 1 due to supply during primetime 8:30pm dinner on a Wed night (only Wed it's lobster night) and the 4 hour wait (3:35pm - 8:30pm) at $64 pp was just not worth it. Been to other buffet that used Yelp reservation to make long line were pleasant for the customer instead of having everyone just stick around like fools.

@@TimLeeLetsGo I know a few casinos were sold to Blackstone earlier this year, but the casinos continue to operate them but make lease payments to Blackstone. What bad timing. Imagine an empty hotel/casino with no revenue but the rent still must be paid. I believe it was the MGM and Mirage. I don't understand how you can have 20,000 subscribers. You content is as good or better than others. I enjoy them.

Hi Jade, that was a good call to cancel the trip..they're always be another opportunity to go again :-) It's amazing how things are changing by the hour everywhere. A bit hard to catch up but it might be a good idea to reach out to Vegas places to see what they have to report...might look into that...

Hi Tim I am new to yr channel(all of a sudden your videos keep popping out in my youtube recommendation and so I keep watching yr buffet videos and makes me so hungry everyday!😀) Too bad we can't go anywhere now because of Covid-19. Btw do you speak Chinese?In the future when the covid is all gone you can travel to Hong Kong and/Macau someday. There are tons of super great buffets there😊.

Due to recent changes, the people behind the counter will ladle foods for you. But, the salad bar and some of the desserts are self serve. The hostess seating you will offer a sealed wet cloth to before you go get your dishes. Please use them. Ask for more if you feel a bit wary.

Thanks for the update James! Nice to hear they're putting extra attention to this. I'm seeing things change quite rapidly...I think even the casinos have shut down some/all of their gaming areas too. Hope you're keeping well :-)

All MGM buffets are closed now. That's Bellagio, MGM, Aria, Mirage, The Park, New York New York, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur are closed. Also the Wynn and Encore are closed. I'm not sure about the Cesar's Palace, Bally's Rio, Paris property's are closed. Also not sure about Treasure Island buffet. I do live in Vegas but I don't go to the Strip if possible!

@@TimLeeLetsGo The Wynn is closing for 2 weeks at this time. They are paying their full time workers for those 2weeks which is the right thing to do. Some other casinos will have layoffs but not with pay as far as I know. So sad... 😢

Yeah, that was certainly a problem. The buffet was quite large and I thought it would be better to just go through it all in one go... it took much longer than I anticipated :-)
