Tim, I said it before and I will say it again. I wish we were neighbors. I have been preaching Made in USA for the last 35 years. It matters people. Thanks for the content. I know you don't need to be doing these videos. I really appreciate it. And no BS.

Could you do a video on bending 2 inch tube and talk about how you calculate what length to cut before you bend also what large bender you prefer and how to use it. Thanks again for all of the videos!

Another great video. I have the same Rigid benders for 3/16”, 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” and have used them for years. Nowhere near as much as you I’m sure as I’m only a small father & son shop but they have worked and held up well. Keep the videos coming, I’m really enjoying them. Thanks for making this video series. Mike

Swagelok are my favourite benders, pretty similar to the "hd" rigid ones. However they are probably made overseas as well, since I can't find anything on where they are manufactured. Thanks for doing this series, it's great.

They are manufactured offshore.

Do you offer a summer intern type position? For high school students or college engineering students Mr McAmis? I’ll be a freshman next year and I would really enjoy a summer of learning from you and your technicians.

Not new units. They still have US Patent numbers, but are manufactured offshore.

Are there any good manual tubing benders for larger stuff? Like 1.5” or 1.75” tube. I’ve looked at a bunch. But they all look really gimmicky.
@danielscott67876 жыл бұрын
When connecting various tubing. Do you ever use a Swadge connection??
@patw52pb16 жыл бұрын
Usually not on any tube requiring structural strength.

I prefer to use, and I own 2 different size Swagelok hand-held roller benders (1/4" and 3/8"). Along with Swagelok benders, I use the best tube bending book available. It is called Tube Bending Simplified! Information about that book can be found at kzbin.info Once you own a copy of that book, you will wonder how you ever managed to bend tube without it!

Hi tim,im pity shure u can design a hand bender,if there's a market for an anerican made bender then u can make a good bender,we al know that "made in america"is the best😁

I bet that the Ridgid benders are designed in the USA.

You can’t tell me Snap on or Blue point doesn’t make hand benders.
@peterroberts45553 жыл бұрын
It's not tube it is pipe. Square pipe is "Tube" you should know this when ordering it usually pipe has an ID or internal dimension when tube has an od or over dimension
@LadyBovine3 жыл бұрын
Maybe be right when you lecture someone. Tubing is structural, measured in OD and wall thickness, and in no world has to be square.

Swagelok makes far superior benders than rigid. I bend all my tubing with them from 1/4" to 1/2" for for thicker tubing they have electric benders and manual bench top benders.

Some assembly is still done, as well as world wide offices. When Emerson Electric bought it out most of the real production off shored over the next few years. Most of the quality is still good, but my soul screams; a huge percentage of plumber's tools, from iron and aluminum pipe wrenches to power threaders and other complex tools are sourced from Rigid. My uncle gave me a 40 year old 36" pipe wrench from Rigid; it's almost three pounds heavier than the two year old one I recently bought. Which one will still be a tool in another 40 years?
