This is such a small thing, but I think a white patch on his chest would help him look more like a boxer, since that's a very common marking on boxer breeds. ^.^

I agree that this would tie the design together very well. I own a boxer dog and he has plenty of white on the face, chest, and paws!

I think your issue with the hoodie might have been the shape and height of it. It covered a lot more of the face than most hoodies would. If you did the face first then used that as landmarks for where the hood sat I think that might've helped

I know Tyson is a bit obvious feeling to you but it's a pretty common name for boxer dogs so it would have worked out well. Love the phrase, so cute! I really like this guy. Such a cute cross meaning. I love him.

I think the problem you were having with the hood may be that it’s creating the opposite effect of the boxing tape. Hoods generally aren’t form fitting to the head so that combined with the height of the head mesh and the placement of the ears is creating a weird conflicting visual

Ooo he looks really cute and i like how he has a little bit of a backstory lol! Maybe you could do a hamster thats based on some sort of fruit next? There little bean bodys would be good for round fruit like oranges or strawberries.

I think a shepherd villager would be really cool, but more like a Border Collie or a German Shepherd instead of a sheep dog like Shep. Maybe the wolf model would fit better? I love the round faced dogs but the long snoot bois are missing out. Any breed using the wolf model would be cool actually.

The "wolf" named Vivian is actually a German Shepherd!

Not quite subtle, but maybe Boxxer can be his name. Very simple, but some of the villager names are like that (Leon for a Lion, Kat for a Cat, etc.)

I like the name 'Sugar', considering I had a dog with that name when I was younger; however, when looking at them while you were making them my brain kept thinking 'Doc' as a reference to Doc Brown in Punch-Out. I think they're cute though! The droopy mouth is honestly my favorite touch in the design. Also works well with boxing considering swelling can mess up your face as well and make things look droopy.

Omg you should name him Kostya , named after kostya tszyu (a boxer) but it’s also the name of my childhood dog who passed away a few years ago, it’d be so cute since he was a brown dog too. Also the name kostya sounds like ‘cost ya’ as in saying ‘it’s gonna cost ya if you fight me’ since he’s a smug villager
