Johnny you mad lad! I saw "3 oz" in the title and thought "oh okay, he removed 3 oz from the 3lb trigger". Nah, he MADE it 3 oz. Wow. I was thinking "surely this is a big deal right?" then saw the smile and you mentioned how cool this was. Cool indeed! The way the trigger functioned made me think of a crazy tuned M&P not a Glock. Cool stuff dude. I'm sure you'll be safety testing the hell out of this as you and I both seem to value that above the rest. Good work dude.

I had the opportunity to try a Timney Glock trigger with the engineer that is the namesake of the Calvin Elite triggers. It was an amazing experience and it blew the stock trigger out of the water, but I thought there was still room for improvement, particularly in the reset. Lo and behold, it has been improved! Eagerly looking forward to seeing when I can get this upgrade on my own Timney trigger.

I made a deal where I got one of these triggers for free. I'm looking forward to going out and shooting with it. The only thing I don't like so far is that the trigger is always in the same position cocked or uncocked. You get use to knowing if a Glock is cocked or not just by looking at the position of the trigger. Good thing I'm safe and tread unloaded and uncocked guns as though they're loaded and ready to go. It doesn't feel anything like a Glock trigger.

Wondering about some kind of similar sear drop-in but one which includes some sort of various leaf springs for the trigger reset so it pushes instead of pulls.
@5jjt3 жыл бұрын
I want to make this comment because I installed my Timney trigger last night and have some feedback. It was installed in a P80 G19 version, and I noticed a couple of things, 1. The wall is way too flimsy if you want to carry with this trigger. The wall is so easy to break through that it is unsatisfying, to me, and it's almost as if there's no trigger at all. 2. After pulling the trigger and hand cycling the slide back, then forward, the striker wouldn't catch on the sear completely and the striker would fire again meaning, there were two fires during one trigger pull and this happened maybe 15% of the time. I don't know if this means two shots would have fired had there been live rounds in the mag. The trigger was trying to reset/reengage but would slip, causing that famous striker twang sound. I was using a P80 trigger housing, a 4.5 lbs striker spring, and all polished and cleaned components. I did not polish the Timney, however. Prior, this P80 was a successful build using Glock, or Glock copy components, and firing it several times at the range. So I'm near 100% certain that it was built correctly. I am considering selling the trigger, or roughing up some of the metal surfaces to cause drag, and/or install a different connector. The connector used was a standard 5-5.5lbs Glock copy connector bar. The angle of the bar was correct, as far as I know. I've had to resolve issues with connector angles, so I am fairly certain the angle was good.
@johnnyglocks3 жыл бұрын
That's an engagement issue and could come from a few things. Seeing it was a binary fire it would point to connector
@mendoafgoo4203 жыл бұрын
The p80 trigger housing sits lower then OEM that’s your problem, it’s causes less sear engagement even with bone stock trigger bars and shoes. Your having engagement issues which simulates a binary style fire. Easily corrected mate. Could also check your connector after you replace that trigger housing to OEM. I have to his in a p80 and Strike80 build and have no such issues. I don’t use cheap knockoff housings or connectors or springs though. I use all OEM internals first and build it up from there. Cheers and good luck

@joegarrigues36972 жыл бұрын
Isn't the trigger shoe safety sort of.... not enough now? Since the actual piece that interacts with the striker is separate from the trigger bar, a drop could still give that piece that interacts with the striker downward momentum and potentially fire the gun? The trigger shoe safety seems borderline irrelevant if dropped.

I did not do the springs yet. And I did not use the set screw. Trigger seems to operate perfectly. I plan on breaking it down and doing the polishing job. Should I be using the springs supplied? Is the small set screw necessary? Like I said it operates great but I’m wondering if there Is a safety concern. Thanks

Looking for some tips or some help. I bought the timney alpha and put it in gen 3 G19...... I love the trigger pull, it's the reset. I'm ready to pull the trigger out and get something different. I have tried both springs, one of them definitely made it worse. I found some rubbing marks in the frame, so I took a little metal off, did not seem to make a difference. The trigger does return, but it's slow. If I take my time releasing the trigger will not return unless I push it back. I want this trigger to work, I just want a normal return at least as good as factory any suggestions would be great.

damn! Thumbs up. By far the best Glock trigger I've found on the webs after hours of searching (I've only actually tried a few glock triggers - all way inferior to this one). My main question is: can you feel that pull-weight inconsistency between trigger pulls? ..pull weights seemed to be quite varied - between 1 and 3 pounds (perhaps that's normal?). And bravo for giving props to a competitor - give credit where credit is due! Also, I'm in Australia so it's probably not viable to send my Glock over - that said - any suggestions as to the best trigger set up I could get for competition? (I'm building a Glock 17 rig for IPSC Production Optics Division).

Why don't you use the trigger pull scale correctly instead of slapping it into the trigger so it doesn't read the actual pull.
@mendoafgoo4203 жыл бұрын
He mentions why, he’s doing it that way to negate the safety tabs added weight to the pull. The weight it takes to engage the safety tab and the weight it takes to break through the wall and release the striker are 2 entirely different things

We’re your measurements correct? In your comments you said the trigger pulls that you got were in ounces. Was it supposed to be 2.1 lbs. I don’t think it could be once’s unless you add the takeup that you got at first to the ounces that you got second. Please clarify.
@johnnyglocks3 жыл бұрын
It's a single stage trigger so I was pulling quickly through the first stage in order to just factor in the break. If I consistently measure the weight of the trigger safety tab it's right about 13.5 Oz if I do a slow pool at averages about a pound so if you minus the first stage 13.5 Oz out of the equation you're still sitting in the 3 oz range
