Could you make some material about backhand flick like Lin Yun Ju. When and how to use it. When keep bat flat, when one should increase the angle. How to flick ball with backspin, topspin, no-spin ball? Thank you!

yes please

Hi! I learned it from Fan Zhendong. With backspin close the bat angle more , that means the backhand side of your bat should almost face the surface of the table. Also keeping the bat like I mentioned, tilt the top part of your bat more inwards towards your belly, so that the head of the bat, that means the top center part of your bat should face your belly.. then the last thing is balance. Use the left hand to balance the shot before executing the flick. For top spin and no spin you can open the backhand side of the racket according to the amount of the spin on the incoming ball. Hope this helps. Watch this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKvMYXeOea2Ffrc

"Stand behind your plans" that is a really good one I am going to implement from now on! Uncertainty when making a stroke 9/10 times means you are going to miss the shot.

@voberle3 жыл бұрын
Great advice, thanks. However isn't the "be creative" a bit the opposite of "concentrating on the basics"? Trying a new serve at crunch time may surprise your opponent, sure, but it may also loose concentration a bit (focusing more on the serve than on the basics) and it might simply not be the right time to do something risky like this. Of course it all depends how it works out. If your creative choice wins you the match, you will conclude it was the right decision, and if you loose you will conclude you should have stayed with the basics :-) statistically

I guess at top level, they have mastered all the shots, and thus can play something creative without sacrificing the point

It’s to have a large reserve of skills (different shots, service) so you can use later in a match to keep your opponent guessing.
