Timothee is a full package, i mean look at the roles he played, from. Bones and all, to an addict, to a lover, to Wonka, to a serious character like Dune, to King..to the one he is gonna play Bob Dylan.. here rapping and monologue, even his monologue in Miss Stevens was incredible. He is pure talent.

The prophecy of the Fremen, the primitive desert people on the planet Arrakis/Dune, indicates he's the "Lisan al-Gaib" -- the Voice from the Outer World. Whether the prophecy is true or not will be revealed in the second film. It's a complex story, and I couldn't do it justice here.

See him in “Call Me By Your Name,” if you can. It’s the film that made him famous. He has one no dialog scene, all by himself, in front of a fireplace, that is difficult not to cry along with him. It was Oscar caliber stuff. He’s done good roles, but this role is still his best by far. It encapsulates the heartache of young love unlike any film before. (And on a side note, his character’s father gives a consoling talk to him that all parents should watch, showing their kids unconditional love, while also giving them the space to learn & grow,… & get hurt)

I second seeing "Call Me By Your Name." I also recommend "Miss Stevens" where he performs a scene from Death of a Salesman that will make your jaw drop. Other good ones: Lady Bird, Beautiful Boy, and a really sweet supporting role in "Don't Look Up." I would say that currently, Chalemet is one of the best, if not the best young male actors of the 21st century. My only hope is that he takes more serious roles in the future, and leave things like Wonka and Dune for the amateurs.
@AbcDef-ww2gy
@AbcDef-ww2gy Жыл бұрын
@@janemargolis1178 I have to disagree with your last point. If you want those quality, low-budget indie movies you like to reach the wider public, then quality indie actors like Timothee MUST make themselves known to the public by making some quality blockbusters alongside them. Dune is based on the greatest sci-fi novel of all time, and whether you like the sci-fi genre or not is irrelevant. Everyone should see Dune, before the even more impressive and profound second half of the story comes on March 15th. Nobody has seen Wonka yet, so you dismissing it as amateur is premature. The director Paul King made the most acclaimed children's movies of all time with Paddington 1 and 2. Wait for it.

@odesreis6712 Then you haven't seen ALL his movies and work. He's played a coming-of-age teen exploring his bisexuality, a drug addict son, a medieval English warrior king, an American classic literature character in Little Women, a sci-fi prince in Dune...all that on top of the musicals he did in his arts high school plus rapping. He was about to play Bob Dylan in a biopic that got shelved so he's doing Willy Wonka instead. He's practically his generation's Leo DiCaprio. So uh...do some pop culture research first before you speak so you can sound like you know what youre actually commenting on. Lol

If you like comedy, I guess Don't Look Up on Netflix would be the right place to start, or maybe the movie Lady Bird -- even though he's an unlikeable character in that, it's still funny.
