I'll never forget Elizabeth Olsen came to talk to my class and someone asked her how she got an agent/parts after she graduated and she said "I'm an Olsen so I didn't really have to go through all of that" and I really respected her for not bullshitting us. This really is what it is like sometimes, but gotta respect when they are just honest with you about how luck and connection is a MAJOR part of being an actor.

I think it was intentional so we could suspend disbelief that she is NOT Rachel McAdams, which is the premise of this skit.

@@seanscommentary no that's not how SNL would handle it. It's sketch comedy their focus is not on suspending disbelief

@@WrasslinKing Disagree. When you believe what the comic is saying, it's funnier. That's why the actors try so hard not to "break character" and laugh, because it distracts from the believability that they are actually the characters they are playing. I have a degree in dramatic art, so I do know what I'm talking about. 🤷‍♂ And the "secret" is that great comedic actors commit to their characters just as much as dramatic actors.

It feels like the camera was suppose to cut to a close up of someone else before Rachel Mcadams popped up but there was a screw up. She sits down during Sarah Shermans line so we see her before the line introducing her and then the close-up, which i feel was supposed to be her reveal. It seems that's why the audience didn't have a huge reaction to her.

Rachel McAdams breaking character of "person who is not Rachel McAdams" is either speaking volumes of her lack of live acting abilities or a pure stroke of genius. It's hard to tell when the level of the skit is that low.

This guy is a decent dramatic actor but he has no comedic timing. Funny part is this is the second skit (short king skit) I've seen and both of them relied on him being tall and good looking and the character he's playing not having much depth.
