I miss my son .. would have been 31 this week. Somehow this extremely realistic movie that I keep telling myself I won't watch anymore keeps bringing me back because it somehow makes me feel closer to my son who died in 2018 from a Heroin OD after being clean. Was it his 'one last time' to get high? Yes in BOTH ways. By the way -- this other half of his passing was the contributing factor of Kratom == be aware. Consider reading the books that this movie was based on. There is a follow up book from Nick .. . this was some years back. Don't know the current situation ... hope all is well. I am inviting anyone to reach out if they need to talk -- or if they are someone who has lost a beloved. I would be grateful for a friend as well .. nobody knows until they have experienced this.

I’ve noticed Steve delivers some lines in this movie like he’s Michael Scott

I was wondering why everyone was talking about a Michael and Holly and then I realized, frighteningly late I must admit, that they were referencing The Office lmao💀💀

@@ztsyib4126 Seriously. When Nic leaves after being accused of stealing Jasper's money for drugs, the way Steve yells makes me think that he hasn't left the role of Michael behind yet.

That doesn't mean that they shouldn't use the tough love approach. If you understand the parasite that addiction is you'll understand the need to exercise tough love.... or loving them to death.

“To love someone long-term is to attend a thousand funerals of the people they used to be. The people they’re too exhausted to be any longer. The people they don’t recognize inside themselves anymore. The people they grew out of, the people they never ended up growing into. We so badly want the people we love to get their spark back when it burns out; to become speedily found when they are lost. But it is not our job to hold anyone accountable to the people they used to be. It is our job to travel with them between each version and to honor what emerges along the way. Sometimes it will be an even more luminescent flame. Sometimes it will be a flicker that disappears and temporarily floods the room with a perfect and necessary darkness.” ― Heidi Priebe

So sorry to hear of the loss of your son it’s been more than 12 years clean for me, however I have to watch the story unfold all over again bc my son is addicted To Vodka was sober a year but since then is playing Russian ruelette by drinking these so called summer light drinks. I have warned him but other than that not much more I can do. I pray for all those afflicted with the disease of addiction and their families. Another great tv series was also a true story and starred Michael Keaton in it called “Dope sick“ about a doctor facing the drug epidemic and how that turns out😢
